@reijerlincoln Great question. The original 292 Y-Block V8 weighed around 625 lbs, and the Coyote 5.0 claims a shipping weight of 430 lbs. The aluminum rack & pinion weighs less than the iron steering box, and the aluminum Richmond is lighter than the original trans, too. We'll weigh the finished car and compare.
@nx5 The T56 6-speed has 2 overdrives, and the Richmond 6-speed has one. The owner of this car really likes to spin through the gears, and the second overdrive is more of a highway gear for low RPM cruising.
Wow that is amazing.... 1955 T-bird is beuatiful car... and I never seen one in my life but I love them .... only saw photos and in pc games, videos, .... :-/ I wish i could drive car like this but here in europe is kinda hard to find cars like this...
No, don't destroy this beauty, (sounds like it is too late)? buy a used 2005 if you can't handle the fire. Why don't all you guys get it?
If you start with a car that is not really restorable ok, otherwise restore or park it in a safe place.
Just how will your grandkids enjoy the "real" past?
Lastly, without the Coyote there is no story/TV episode:)
You are welcome.

Cool new project! Nice to see something different than (GM) muscle cars.
How much weight has been shed after the 2011 motor was installed?

@V8TV Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Sounds as though the car is going to shed over 300 lbs. Not too shabby!

@ncautoman57 Not sure what you mean by that... Ford's not paying any of our bills!
