you will struggle with that p4 becuase the game is cpu dependant & graphics limited.

crysis on medium 1024x768 =15-20 fps :P left 4 dead highest 20-30 fps ...

You need to restore to its default by clicking the optimal performance or u need to update your gfx card driver.I can smoothly play on Pentium 4, 512MB RAM, and WinFastA7600 GT with about 20 - 30 fps.Enjoy!
