Beer Review: Dogfish Head Raison D' Etre

This is a great beer! I first had this about 4 years ago right when I turned 21 and it was in my top favorites for a while. When it is available, I prefer the extreme version of this beer, Raison D'extra. That one was last produced in 2007 and bottled @ 18% ABV.  Have you had a chance to find one? I know of a shop nearby where I live that sells them for about 11 bucks each, some of them 2006 some 2007 vintage.

The aroma is bubble gum. Not necessarily fruit. But you really should drink it from a proper glass to get the proper aroma.

Personally, I don't drink beer with anything. I always enjoy it by itself. Personal preference.

It's pronounced like this:

'raisin detra'

The 'r' is soft, and this beer is awesome. One of my all time favorite beers.

Hey dude (this is Sunil) - actually I'm getting the strong essence of dates when I smell this beer. Not so much a raisin smell though. A light hoppy-ness on the back.

That and the IBA are my favorites from Dogfish Head

My only problem with this beer is that it's DANGEROUS, hah.

No alcohol presence in the taste but so high in abv.

I made the mistake of drinking them without counting.......hahah.
