  • I actually made a personal CD set of all their recordings. Including both takes of "You've Got Me Picking Petal Off Of Daisies" Love the happy sound.

  • the high hatters were magnificent , i think one of the best bands of the 1920's and early 1930's i wish they would put out a cd of their music , i would buy it , thank you wonderful tune

  • Recorded on May 11, 1931; vocal by Frank Luther.

  • born too late thanks

  • Wonderful song and High Hatters are the revelation for me. They are unbeatable!!

  • That was very good.

    Grzegorz, You are too funny!

  • Yes Grzegorz, That would be me. I am after all very PATRIOTIC and will do all I can to entertain the boys! But let me ask you, Is that you and the lovely Barbcarb in the last picture 2:48? You sure look very Velentinoish and dapper in that tux.

  • This is very different, instrumentally, from the

Chevalier recording. I prefer this one by a mile! The lyrics put me in a mind of hayrides, but there are no farms nearby nowadays. We have the music to preserve oldtime romance. Thanks.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! It makes me very happy!

    Love the lyrics...ADORABLE. WONDERFUL!!!!!

    EXCELLENT!!!! THE BEST!!!!!

Love the arrangement.... I would dance my head off. I'm glad the people in 1931 had it, I'm sure they loved it too and I think they needed something like this.

  • Very beautiful version! There is also another version sung by Maurice Chevalier.

  • The High Hatters are a favorite of mine and this may be the best version of this tune. The 'chirping birdies' are a bit fey but it's hard not to fox trot around the room while this is playing.

  • I am going to make room to start favouriting again, this deserves to go straight to favourites!

  • Yet another FANTASTIC upload!!I have some uk H.M.V 78s by this band and used to think it was a UK band. This is a VERY good version of this great tune!

  • Like a sun shower in Saturday morning - long awaited.

    Poems, poems.

  • Invigorating! Those brisk sailors are definitely dancing to this tune!

  • Just think: 1931 was the heart of the Depression and

there were already rumblings of the coming War, yet people were dancing in the Silver Slipper. Thanks for this lively complement to Aston's and others' beautiful melancholic songs. You're achieving a fine balance with what you decide to upload each night.

  • 1933 was the height of the Depression. It began late in 1930... and gradually affected more and more people..

  • In fact I think I've never uploaded anything either, I should look what I've got (not much but a couple of good ones though).

  • Great, so catchy!
