The problem might not be with Movie Maker, instead it might be the capture card. the pixels around the HUD at the top of the screen are jumbled together, and the video itself is blocky. try recording at a higher bitrate. The brightness, I would say mess around until you get satisfactory settings. you could also try increasing the brightness of it withing Movie Maker.
@meheggs I'm just going to lamenize it (put it into easier terms) the quality should be a high bit-rate (around 2 megabits a second) make sure you are setting the quality level to what you want. for the brightness, if the raw (unprocessed, unedited) video is that dark, you should be able to increase it. What did you use to edit this video? what's the Operating system of your computer? if it's windows 7/vista, you can increase the brightness under the "visual effects" tab of Live Movie Maker.
