Rice is food. Clay is not. Two different things. I can see it kinda disrespectful to have your feet in food because people are to eat it. But clay isn't food. I thought clay was basically dirt and we all walk on dirt every day. Its not disrespectful either that in some places they smash grapes with their feet to make wine. I can see how someone would agrue about how they make wine like that then stepping on clay.
the story of little gopher and his vision quest is a legend of the plain in things, They are many different many native American trives, each with its own legend and history!
@elgilicious it's not disrespectful to knead the clay with your feet. respect towards the clay means respecting its origins, its meaning, its purpose; respecting the role it plays in the life of the people. clearly you have a narrow western mindset...
@blazzinboo Stomping on something with your bare feet is disrespectful pretty much everywhere. See how far you'd get in Japan mixing sushi rice (which comes from the ground, too, by the way) with your feet. Also, they're from New Mexico, which is "western," so there's no reason her mindset would be different from mine. Respecting something's origins, then stepping on it is two steps forward, three steps back. Clearly you are a dumbass.
@elgilicious wow... your comment is the epitome of cultural ignorance or perhaps it's just plain stupidity? trying to get your minuscule brain to understand that not all people share the same ideologies as you would be a waste of time and energy.
@blazzinboo I gave reasonable grounds for calling her actions disrespectful, you responded with insults rather than addressing any of my points, and I'VE got the miniscule brain. Sure, retard, whatever you say. Then again, if I were wrong and incapable of admitting it, I'd do the same.
@elgilicious I think it would be disrespectful not to step in it. Since they are mixing the clay as they step in it, it would be disrespectful if they did not, and left it unmixed all the way. If they didn't mix it, it would have holes, and I think that would more disrespectful.
