It's so wonderful to have someone like you in the media making sense of events and not glamorizing them, giving them more worth than they deserve through attention, and in turn making more grand the murderers 'act on a global scale.
A brief pause and then continue the march forward. The best thing we can do for the country is to start climbing the back onto the pedestal that the democrats and republicans knocked us off of after 9/11. We killed those responcible now it's time to rebuild. We earned the right to be the worlds only super power and we'll earn it again if we have to dammit. Thats how we'll pay respect to the lives lost, we're America and not so easily swept aside.
If you could go back in time to 1941 and tell an American that they would make a terribly cheesy movie about Pearl Harbor they would call you crazy. It won't be long before they make a terribly cheesy movie about 9/11. Sad but true.
We need more videos like this from ReasonTV. I love the intellectual and economic side of Reason, you guys have made me review my stances on a lot of issues and I am grateful for that. Although sometimes the human side and the emotional connection to freedom gets lost at times. Keep on what you are doing and doing well. Please incorporate more videos like this.
That's nice and all, but people are fickle, and 9/11 will be forgotten by the next generation. Does anybody know what's special about Dec. 7th? It's National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. How many of you even care to know that?
Well done Nick. You're right: Our best response is our resiliency. Like your father upon learning, in a nostalgic mood, that his entire neighborhood had been destroyed; we should all pay our respects briefly and then shrug our shoulders and say "Do you want to go see a movie?"
America would honor them most by getting off it arse and getting the bastards who did it , and they live in your own country and you pay their wages ,while they laugh at you and send what was left of the dead to China ,as scrap in rubbish barges and your sons to kill and die in foreign countries for their benefit and profit
Thanks. Back in college I remember watching the WTC being built. Never paid much thought to them at the time. I went to the observation deck and was amazed at the view of NY Harbor. NY will never be the same. Never was.
Well, over 1 million hostiles in the Middle East are dead, but I don't think that even a great amount of justice like that would've displeased the terrorist scumbags or avenged the dead.
One million hostiles? Really? Those million people weren't hostiles, at least not the vast majority of them. No more than the thousands on 9/11 were hostiles. Funny how many Americans are really no different than the terrorists in their misinformed views of the world. Good luck with your hate.
Hm. I did some research. Turns out that the so-called 'civilian deaths' are total killed in the conflict, not our collateral damage.
Any good, unbiased source will tell you that the refugee crisis and the deaths were largely from criminals, insurgents, and the militias. The US of A doesn't go around killing civilians for fun. There is no tactical sense in that.
You don't seem like someone who ain't American, just a really, really stupid one.
It's easy to assume things when it's impossible to disprove them. I ain't gonna find a CIA civilian killcount. You could say that for all of the legitimate 'conspiracy theories' going around, bullshit like what you said floods the actual accounts of corruption with horseshit.
Examples of similar things to that statement: "Republicans start wars", "occultists sacrifice virgins", "satanists kill people for fun", "video games make you kill people".
@brunojluc4 Germans in the 30's and 40's were willingly (or not) naive about what their government was doing but all they really had was German news sources. A quick glance at news from around the world would have let them know what might have been going on. Future history will be the only real judge. These aren't assumptions, the President has stated he has the right to assassinate American civilians if they're suspected why would they show more compassion to foreigners?
@brunojluc4 Corporatism is fascism. America is a fascist state. Google "president can assassinate americans" and read the news reports yourself. I would agree that most troops are good and it's not policy to kill civilians. Does that stop civilian deaths? I'm in Canada so don't get your red, white and blue panties in a bunch.
@brunojluc4 Alrighty then have fun while your empire falls apart. I hear tell that out of all the different kind of ages you can live through, that ones the best!!
@brunojluc4 Obama authorized a plan to assassinate American citizens abroad "suspected" of being terrorists. It's common knowledge and was big news last year. Not sure how you missed it. Just because the news came to you from a Canadian troll does not mean it's not true (sadly).
Oh, and it's not near 1 million, my bad. We've killed several dozen thousand hostiles, and the aforementioned groups over there caused the majority, if not almost the entirety, of civilian casualties.
It's so wonderful to have someone like you in the media making sense of events and not glamorizing them, giving them more worth than they deserve through attention, and in turn making more grand the murderers 'act on a global scale.

Great architecture is a lost art these days--especially in a place like New York City.
The new World Trade Center looks like an absolute piece of garbage.
That said, I don't really care for this ultra-modern crap that they've putting up in Midtown and Lower Manhattan.
Some of these architects and designers really need to pull their heads out of their creative asses and come up with something better.

@brunojluc4 Um, yes they do. The CIA kills civilians everyday that are "suspected" of things. Just assuming we're the good guys doesn't make it so.

-Germany was a fascist state, and knowingly so.
-When has the President stated this? Just curious, never heard of that, and he wouldn't call it 'assassinating'.
-You are confusing the President's agents with enlisted troops.
GTFO of my country.
