People talk about neck arrangements and stuff all the time, but they fail to realize that damn near every band got so much going on in they arrangement it almost dnt sound like Cameo's Neck anymore smh...thats y I like Cookman's....might not be the most creative but its one of the closest to the actual song
This look the swac meac challenge. Can somebody from cookman band tell me why you never play in the 5th? Been watching cookman for over ten years, cant bet a 5th quarter and when they finally put one in the schedule at the swac/meac challenge yall still don't play. can somebody help me out with that? None of my Jones High fam can help me.
@20wayno because cookman band doesnt believe that 5th quarter determines who is the better band..in the meac..its all about the halftime performance and less about stands..as far as swac..its more about stands..rather than halftime performance
@ChamberMusic7 I feel u, i don't think playing in the 5th makes you a better band but i do think it makes you more entertaining. I disagree with the meac being all about the halftime, cuz as a musician i think the most important thing is the music. And all the people i know that marched in cookman band hated the fact that yall didn't play much in the stands. I used to ask why they never play with famu at the end of the classic and they holla Mr. Wells. But i understand if thats the philosophy
The 3 top versions of Neck IN MY OPINION are from the 3 Meac schools: SCSU, BCU, & NSU mainly because they sound different from all of the other versions. Alabama State's version in the Swac is okay, but it is just too long and drawn out to me.
Chanting is fun, but to me personally i think they chant too long. And it doesnt sound like they let their trumpets go higher octaves, they all stay on the same one. But for right now this school is my 2nd choice under Scsu and Ncat, For drumline purposes anyway
