I personally not really like nice effects, but I do care about performance of the system while running such applications, which of course require a very fast Processor. I use animated applications only for my convinience, for example to have quick access to apps and paging. I save most of the RAM to play games softly.
Yeah, its okay. Its cool. But it does not come any where close to the Compiz-Fusion technology that is avaiable to Linux Desktops / Users.
Take it from an avid O/S X lover. I have O/S X Leopard running on my Mac, but I prefer Ubuntu Linux, which also installed on my Mac. Expose, Spaces, Stacks, You Control Destops & iTunes are all fine and dandy but they are nothing compared to the Compiz-Fusion technology that is only availalbe RIGHT NOW for Linux O/S(s). Sorry.
its more useful then pointless though..ive been through couuunttlesss application modifications and these are the only useful ones....although i do like the panning better than 3d cube
Lol I am a big mac user lol... But I mean I want the feel of a Linux 3D cube where you go out and drag... it does not just flip... It would be cool to do that with Spaces on Leopard but sadly - not yet... Windows can do that and I know macs can but no one is programming it.
Mac OS X can actually do it, it's just, like many other features of mac OS X like being able to use .saver files as desktop pictures or the ability to play flash files in quicktime, isn't taken advantage of. If you have fast-user-switching enabled and use it, you should witness the cube flip, but if you use spaces, you witness the draggy-type effect. Shame they never let you use all of the quartz extreme effects for both spaces and fast user switching.
I have seen the FUS and the SPACE stuff what I want is neither of those. I want what those 3rd Part PC apps can do and what linux can do using a CUBE 3D effect. With the PC and Linux you drag out and look at a cube... It does not switch screens and you go arround the cube to find the screen you need. Thats 3D CUBE. - Sigh.

a 3rd party implementation of spaces was able to do it

No... it does not drag out it just flips
coolass222 4 years ago
where did you mention anything about a program that does both? x3
HaniiPuppy 4 years ago
Linux does it by default or well most Linux OS do.

oO sounds interesting, could probably be written in Carbon or Perl and embedded into an input manager.
