  • i'm having this surgery in decemeber. i'm very nervous about it. how long did it take to be able to walk properly again?

  • 8 weeks. im 8 weeks along now back trainin full time in a few weeks

  • Wow!! How is your hip now? I just LOVE horses and horseback riding myself so much and I can imagine how sad you felt not being able to ride!!I do hope it's better now after the surgery and that you can ride!!wishing you all the best!

  • Yes, but the big question is: can she now ride? I am looking at hip resurfacing and can find little info on riding. It is my passion and I want to do everything I can to be sure I can still ride. Anyone out there have info - please post here.

  • Hip resurfacing is your best option than any other surgery. The most important thing to consider is that you must follow the physio excercises straight after the op, and follow it relegiously. It will take some time to recover, it comes down to sheer will and being persistant with the right excercise. My physio therapist got this lady to ride horses four months after having two discs replaced in her spine. Yours is just hip.
