Somehow, I don't think God was too unhappy.... we brought home the trophy. All of our local priest and churches were just giddy with emotion. This was an organization named with GOD in mind....It was just one time in New Orleans we weren't black and white. We were only Black and Gold. Father Tony does a wonderful job of helping to bring our youth in New Orleans back to church--any church. Catholic, Baptist... he just wants the kids to show up!
Did anyone notice that this is probably the ONE time in the city that EVERYONE came together, and was nicer to their fellow man. Maybe that's what God was trying to show us--that we can have fun TOGETHER.

if it was a house of worship - GOD worship - they wouldn't have this celebration. If it's a house of worship the only celebration should be that of GOD and HE alone. Tom Benson has mass in his suite before every home game, and was frequently celebrated by Archbishop Hannan (God rest his soul). I was pulling for New Orleans in the Super Bowl, but a church is supposed to be a place to praise God, not act like a silly fool in the stands of a football game.

I am catholic and find nothing wrong with a gathering of Saints fans to celebrate mass and the Saints. From the look at the mass goers and their manner of dress, I would guess this is a special mass for the Saints SB game. When Jesus stormed into the temple when he was here on Earth, the tables he turned over were tables for people who were enjoying life. Maybe not the way some of us would enjoy life but they were enjoying it and seeing nothing wrong with it....just like you people. This video makes me so ashamed of being from South Louisiana. Tom Benson has mass in his suite before every home game, and was frequently celebrated by Archbishop Hannan (God rest his soul). I am curious as to why nobody posted anything about the need for reverence for Our Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament. +
Don't people want a priest who is less worldly and more like Christ himself why eles would we be at a church unless looking for Our Lord. Or someone that can show us a glimps of heaven? I have heard him speak before and he is entertaining, but this distracts from the purpose of attending the Holy Sacrafice of the Mass and puts aside Christ in the tabernacle. :(

In the last 7-8 years that Father Tony has been there, church is packed! My mom is in the choir, my dad on ACT board, my daughter made her 1st communion the year of Katrina. LIGHTEN UP...GOD WANTS US TO BE FILLED WITH THE GOOD SPIRIT. I was home (live in Houston now) for Christmas, he blew up10 ft tall Saint's player. The message was: the same great feeling we have for the Saints going to the Superbowl, we should have that same swell of emotion, everyday for Christ! THANKS FATHER TONY!!!
