If drag radials on stock 19" wheels hook that good what kind are they. Nitto, hoosier's Mt none will even fit on those rims. The BFG's KDW will and those are not a true drag radial. If they hook that good let me know because I never even heard those tires spin. The stock G2's even when warm I can blow off at 100mph.

@ESPsandEmgs Corvett'es are balanced way better than Mustang's. 'Vette's have the rear end and trans built as one unit, making the weight more even between the front and back. They may be lighter than the Mustang but still have more weight in the rear end. Therefore they get better traction. And, alrighty I'll check out the other video
I was actually considering building a GT500 and adding a whipple 3.4L with a SS hood and SS rims until I saw this video, thats when I realized I was being an idiot :) You can never go wrong with the Z, and even if you loose a race, your still rollin' in a FUCKIN' VETTE! :)

It involves starting a business and using your smarts and ambition to build income while your friends do nothing except live at the sports bar. Im not trying to brag as much as give motivation to get out there so you can get whatever cars you want.

@greendayrules11 Thats debatable. A Z06 will perform about the same as a Ford GT. GT has a few more hp but the Z is lighter. Both engines are capable of making HUGE Hp. Both are great cars, just depends on personal preference or how big you're wallet is. I'd take both.

@Thtblkbrit porsche cant prove it though. i wouldnt doubt that the GT2 RS couldnt do it, but i wouldnt boast about it until a \n offical video was realeased. none the less the LFA nuringburgring edition, went around in 7:14. and they have a picture of it. so its impressive. the porsche and the LFA are both well over 200K, while the ZR1 is 110K. to me, the corvettte is the best bang for buck.

@SirProStatus i dont think it would, a boss is laguna seca edition is 49-53grand depending on options it already has the handling , is light, and has everything it needs except a little power, if somebody would stoke a supercharger on their /supporting mods, it would be hand to hand with the zr1 its 450hp stock with nice sc it would be like 600 and other nice mods to get even more hp/ Handling is good, weight is light, runs qtr mile in 12sec 0-60 3.9. i bet you could make it fast for 20gs more

@SuperSnake330CID well my issue with the SS is that its visibility is limited. the pilars between the door and windshiled are just so massive that itd be hard to look into a corner and trying to hit an apex. but then again its a muscle car so its not really built for cornering. although they do well around a track. i like the way the camaros look tho. i think chevy and dodge really killed it with the whole retro look. espicialy dodge. the challenger looks the best and has the most room inside

So what part of your comment makes sense? and the "Z07" package? there's no such thing.its just a " Performance Package" and the 3LZ package which comes with magnetic dampers, Brembo ceramic brakes, custom, high-dollar leather interior, and carbon fiber. none of which gets it down the track faster...

Yeah, I rode in a 2003 Cobra. Fast car, but it felt seriously cramped. Even in the passenger seat. (No, I'm not fat) The Camaro's were way better for space. M3's were not too bad either up front. GTR's are great up front, but a joke in the back just like a 911 Turbo. And if people tell you a GTR had a good ride quality.....they never rode in one. It is no better than a Corvette. It's a very stiff ride. I mean it's not bad, but it's not like an SL55 or DB9 like some try to claim.
@ls1eater That' because corvette's are so much lighter than most others that they need alot less horsepower to be faster than others. And like you said it's alot lighter. That makes a big difference. Though most people don't take that into account or torque for that matter. Point being though most cars need to be modified to gallop with a corvette. As long as you have a car that you like is all that matters in my opinion.
I like most factory performance cars. I'm a fan of Corvette's because they offer world class performance that you don't have to be a millionaire to drive. That makes them cool in my book. A Supercar for the working class.
I like a lot of cars. People call me a liar when I tell them you can find Vipers even in the low 20k range on Ebay....lol I found a 2006 Lingenfelter tuned TT Z06 with 1000+hp on Ebay for like 65k.
People can talk all they want, but for the price, you cannot beat Corvettes and Vipers.
@Curveball The ZR1 starts at around $121,000. The Ford Mustang Cobra Jet fully loaded is around 104,000. The Cobra Jet is capable of 8.5s 1/4th. The ZR1 is capable of 10.7s 1/4th. Both from the factory to the track. Facts speak for themselves your opinions don't matter. Have fun.
You need to update your 'facts', because the ZR1 base price is $110,300. And the ZR1 isn't a purpose built drag car like the Cobra Jet. The ZR1 is designed for a road course. You know, real driving.
I think it's cool Ford made the Cobra Jet, but if I wanted a straight line car, it would be a C6 Corvette. You know, like the IRS World Record Corvette that ran 7.7@183mph.

Yea, I can back up @Curveball's claim. Go to GM High-Tech Magazine website, you will probably have to dig a little, the article was like 6-10 months ago. I really do love both cars (GT500's and ZO6's) but the GT500 needs FAR more engine mods to be able to run with the Z's (in a straight line) once turning gets involved, forget about it.
The GT500 is a GREAT Street Bruiser, but the Z can do the street light thing TOO, and if you go mod for mod the Z eats the GT500's lunch.
@ESPsandEmgs Thats the thing, the GT500 is a muscle car, its heavy and rugged and you have to understand that the GT500 is a BASE model. The ZR1 is NOT a muscle car, its "made" as a super car. As of right now, they are in two different classes, but if you did want to clash classes, the ZR1 will NOT be able to match the 800 HP Super Snake. The Super Snake pushes the limits of being street legal. If you want to do drag track only then theres the Cobra Jet, which has a 8-9s 1/4th time stock.

If drag radials on stock 19" wheels hook that good what kind are they. Nitto, hoosier's Mt none will even fit on those rims. The BFG's KDW will and those are not a true drag radial. If they hook that good let me know because I never even heard those tires spin. The stock G2's even when warm I can blow off at 100mph.

@fast91stang Errr Mustangs have been relying on superchargers since the 90s...nothings changed except they went factory. As for the Camaro-this will be the first year ever using a supercharger.
Cant play the "cubic inches" excuse because the 5.0 is more than capable of 400+ hp at its little size however the GT500 would actually be a formidable entity...if it actually had a suspension worth a shit. 650hp and the best it can do is go straight...and not even that because of lack of traction.

As much as I love the C6Z for all its greatness especially in stock form770RWHP Gt500 is going to be to much.That is a high 130 MPH 1/4 car with a DR.Even a perfectly driven C6Z going 127-129MPH does not stand a chance. Stock for stock though. Nothing like 3100LBS, 7.0L, Huge torque curve and long gears. GM blew it out of the park with the Zo6. More so than even the mighty ZR1 IMO.Gt500If you're a mod guy these are the cars for you. Gotta love how much Ford leaves on the table with their FI cars

They may be lighter than the Mustang but still have more weight in the rear end. Therefore they get better traction. And, alrighty I'll check out the other video

Not sure the dilemma of SCJ's on here. They were built for drag racing/collectors in mind ONLY. In comparison:
GT - SS, GT500 - Vette Base, Super Snake - Z06, Ford GT - ZR1. (Roughly)
The Corvette is overall a better car than any of the mustangs, hands down. Better looking, and overall better performing car hands down.

I don't believe in my mind atleast, The camaro was always the competitor for the mustang, the only reason why people even compare these cars is because they're in a relative same price range and relative power is the same, but the construction of each car has a completely different cost and formula. Chevy never made a camaro to answer the shelby GT, ford never made an answer for the corvette.

@The73Pontiac the supersanke cant put its power down or else itd be my favorite. i herd its 0-60 time was like just under 4 seconds with 800 hp. ford needs to drop the live axel and get new tires for the GT500 to compete. but from what i hear, after the gt500 catches traction in 3rd gear its like a rocket. so im sure a 3rd gear pull between a ZR1 and a Supersnake, the supersnake would win, depending on areo dynamics, but off the line, the supersnake just struggles.

Idk, GM and Ford need to get together and make cars that compete as much as their compared. the V6 Camaros and Mustangs may compete but who the fuck wants to race a V6 standard. :/

@The73Pontiac yeah, the v6 just doesent belong in muscle cars, but if you think aboutit, there 25k and they hit 60 inbetween 5.5 and 5.1 seconds. wich is almost enough to take care of the subaru fanboys. the ford and chevy v6 both have over 300 hp wich is decent amount. but none the less, if youve got the extra 7k get a v8, its always worth it.

@SuperSnake330CID weight reduction would save the Supersnake. it weighs around 3900 LBS where he ZR1 weighs 3300 LBS. if she spersnake could just get down to even 3500LBS, it would be insane. and another option would be to just buy a boss adn put a super charger and some bigger tires and youd run lpas aound a Z06 and give the ZR1 a run for its money. and the boss is already faster then a R8 V8 and thats a 120,000 car. it owuld cost too much to make a boss much faster then any corvette.

@SirProStatus i dont think it would, a boss is laguna seca edition is 49-53grand depending on options it already has the handling , is light, and has everything it needs except a little power, if somebody would stoke a supercharger on their /supporting mods, it would be hand to hand with the zr1 its 450hp stock with nice sc it would be like 600 and other nice mods to get even more hp/ Handling is good, weight is light, runs qtr mile in 12sec 0-60 3.9. i bet you could make it fast for 20gs more

@SuperSnake330CID well my issue with the SS is that its visibility is limited. the pilars between the door and windshiled are just so massive that itd be hard to look into a corner and trying to hit an apex. but then again its a muscle car so its not really built for cornering. although they do well around a track. i like the way the camaros look tho. i think chevy and dodge really killed it with the whole retro look. espicialy dodge. the challenger looks the best and has the most room inside

@SirProStatus what Boss anywhere is faster than the Z06??? a Boss runs to 60 in 4.0 second and the 1/4 mile in 12.2 @ 115.8mph. the z06 runs to 60 in 3.4 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 11.4 @ 125.3mph. So what part of your comment makes sense? and the "Z07" package? there's no such thing.its just a " Performance Package" and the 3LZ package which comes with magnetic dampers, Brembo ceramic brakes, custom, high-dollar leather interior, and carbon fiber. none of which gets it down the track faster...

@deadeyedickification yes it does. look up laptimes of the z06 in 06 then look at the nurburgring laptimes of the 2012 z06 with z07 handeling package. theres almost a 10 second difference around a sub 13 mile course. the the ZR1 does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds retard. the z06 does it in 3.7 but base z06 vs base boss and itd be a close race. the vette would win, but the vette is also 30k more. the boss is the best bang for the buck. and its rare. z06s all the time but ive yet to see a boss in the wild.

Yeah, I rode in a 2003 Cobra. Fast car, but it felt seriously cramped. Even in the passenger seat. (No, I'm not fat) The Camaro's were way better for space. M3's were not too bad either up front. GTR's are great up front, but a joke in the back just like a 911 Turbo. And if people tell you a GTR had a good ride quality.....they never rode in one. It is no better than a Corvette. It's a very stiff ride. I mean it's not bad, but it's not like an SL55 or DB9 like some try to claim.

@ls1eater That' because corvette's are so much lighter than most others that they need alot less horsepower to be faster than others. And like you said it's alot lighter. That makes a big difference. Though most people don't take that into account or torque for that matter. Point being though most cars need to be modified to gallop with a corvette. As long as you have a car that you like is all that matters in my opinion.

You need to update your 'facts', because the ZR1 base price is $110,300. And the ZR1 isn't a purpose built drag car like the Cobra Jet. The ZR1 is designed for a road course. You know, real driving.

Yea, I can back up @Curveball's claim. Go to GM High-Tech Magazine website, you will probably have to dig a little, the article was like 6-10 months ago. I really do love both cars (GT500's and ZO6's) but the GT500 needs FAR more engine mods to be able to run with the Z's (in a straight line) once turning gets involved, forget about it.
The GT500 is a GREAT Street Bruiser, but the Z can do the street light thing TOO, and if you go mod for mod the Z eats the GT500's lunch.

@ESPsandEmgs Thats the thing, the GT500 is a muscle car, its heavy and rugged and you have to understand that the GT500 is a BASE model. The ZR1 is NOT a muscle car, its "made" as a super car. As of right now, they are in two different classes, but if you did want to clash classes, the ZR1 will NOT be able to match the 800 HP Super Snake. The Super Snake pushes the limits of being street legal. If you want to do drag track only then theres the Cobra Jet, which has a 8-9s 1/4th time stock.
