Is the video/track sync off? One of the best things about Decapitated is/was their groove and really precise timing. Relax a bit and let the notes fall into place, at least that's what I try to do when drumming to this song.

Hmmm... Good song, and nice to see the bass getting some love on this song, but I REALLY can't stand the tone of your bass. Its more than likely your webcam fucking up the frequencies. Unless you recorded this on a real track, in which case, I'd get a new bass :P Either that, or use a pick.

Not excactly flawless, you need to work alot on your rhythm and you missed alot of notes aswell. Also, get a better camera. However, if you practise alot, you might become a really good finger player. wich is really rare these days amongs bass players.

@Hverglemer I agree with you here. However, I do think playing with your fingers is overrated by far. Using a pick has many advantages, the most prominent of which is not getting carpal tunnel too early (I play video games and type for a living, so I do have to avoid these things). Also, I think it sounds better to use a pick: you get a stronger attack.

Some people may never have finger issues from years of playing, and I have seen a dude tremolo with his fingers, in person, and it was awe inspiring to say the least. I am adding finger use in simple, accented parts of songs for a different tone.

I tend to classify myself as a guitarist that plays bass, thus the pick. I'm very good with it and suck with fingers :P

It all depends on what kind of music you are playing and what kind of sound you are looking for. In death metal i ususally think it's fitting with finger playing, since it strengthens alot of the bass tones in a different way than playing with a pick.

@Rhamsody1349 Stick with it man. Play with people.. it's the only way to actually get to the level of the guys in Decapitated or other bands you might listen to. You have ability though, all you need is three or four other guys that wanna seriously do something original. Practice, practice, and play with as many people as you can. Also, what makes the best bands the best, is they aren't trying to sound like anyone else. Good to have influences but be you're own main influence.

That was good!!! The audio was messed up though. Maybe rerecording that with better equipment . I do understand about budget!!! I use Mixcraft 4.5 for my PC recording & now I will be using a condenser mic also. I picked up the mic from some website from China. Man it took 3 weeks to get to me. It also was a cheap price. I think it was only $10.00 or $20.00. it comes with a volume control. Anywho, that was well done! A six sting bass huh? Nice.
