  • bee bee boo bup bup

  • This is the gayest video I have ever seen. With all his money I would be out buying this video up and taking it off the market. I dont know if I can ever get this out of my mind when I see or hear RATM.

Good lord Im glad this band didn't "make it"

  • god damn. I was looking for the grindcoreband.

  • Really cool!! Although it sounds a lot like Living Colour

  • not bad really

  • ahahaha sweet

  • RATM need to do some lock up covers

  • It's not Zack.. hahha

  • shit really? wow I thought this was Zack singing - I mean it sounds exactly like him.

    Thats for clearing this up.

  • your welcome

  • @stevieVantanna doesnt sound a thing like zack

  • @Superunknown190 Sarcasm

  • @stevieVantanna this isnt zack...

  • i like it lotz...

  • this song rox when u play it louder than ur ears will be able to hear.

  • I personaly think it's the solo in the live version of "Promenade" by Street Sweeper Social Club ;)

  • @JohnEngRundlow

I don't, in that solo he does some delay shit in the middle with the thumb and littlie finger, on the low and high e's

  • Kvlt

  • It's a shame Lock Up is only remembered for Morello. I've heard other songs and they were a respectably good band, but because Morello went huge after them, he is there only real factor that people notice.

Oh well, good song none the less, my fav Lock Up song :)

  • TOM MORELLO' he doesent sound to bad at all in lock up but i do love him in RATM an AudioSlave and his solo stuff

  • YEAH, TOM!!

  • It's good to hear musicians before they were famous. Of course i prefer tom in RATM but it's still cool. Brad wilk tried auditioning for lock up, and that's how tom and brad met.

    lol

  • Thanks for the info, I've trying to figure out how they met.

  • lol he wasnt good enough for lock up but was for Rage??

  • haha true... maybe he was just different? - perfect for rage, but not lock up...

  • Thank you for uploading some of their songs! I've been dying to listen to more than the 30-second previews on Allmusic! :D

  • rage is better i dont like this singer zach kicks soooooooooo much ass

  • Yeah. I like Rage better, but I like Lock Up, too.

  • there's that damn star symbol again. i see it wherever tom goes.

  • Heheheheeheh. Just Lock Up and Rage.

  • I heard he was a good shredder and that he demonstrated it in this song, but I just crossed that out.

  • mmm LU's alright i guess, but Tom is AWESOME!! maan he's great anywhere he goes!! i love that about him! soo talented seriously

  • Where the fuck did you get this recording?

  • tom is a catalyst. every band he is in, he makes it great =P.

and i also love how he changes up his style in each band he is in; i love it.

  • starting at 2:38 is a notable part where Tom is making use of the Toggle Switch effect. notice it sounds similar to the Know yor enemy intro.

  • true sounds like a robot just woke up i love it

  • who's overall louder Zack's band Inside Out or Lock Up.

  • Dude, LU is jazz music compared to the hard as hell hardcore band Inside Out

  • Best Lock Up song

  • Why is every1 bringin up RATM and audioslave, when this is neither of the 2 bands...Yeah morello has some sick guitar skills, but everytime I see ANY work of his, it's always followed by tons of audio slave fans bitching with RATM fans. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Stop bitching and accept it.

  • well, RATM is much better

  • a true fan of Tom Morello and his work know for sure Rage is better than Audioslave

  • Its a cool song, but i hate how RATM fans are always so narrow minded. Tom Was in different bands and experimented in different genres. The only reason you fags hate this stuff and audioslave is because you want everything that Tom does to sound like RATM, and since tom has a free will, he probably wont listen to you.

  • I respect that, but honestly who do you like better, RATM, audioslave, or Lock Up?

    RATM is the best

(aUDIOSLAVE AND lu ARE CLOSE but)Audioslave

    than Lock up

  • hey, thamks a million for this!!

  • If you think this is better than Audioslave you are either on crack or hearing impaired.

  • if u think think audioslave is better than ur on lsd and hearing impared

  • HEY! I'm hearing impaired, but I know Audioslave isn't better. :)

  • RAGE 4 life y´all (audioslave is better)

  • Cool. Nice one.

  • i own this album ^^

  • better than audioslave thats for sure

  • I love it.

  • Wow, I thought morello was a good shredder when he was in rage...

  • i wouldn't call anything that tom does on this song shredding. there was one slightly fast run, but it wasn't shredding. unless you were being sarcastic

  • I know, and dislike, all people you mentioned. Basicly what Im saying is morello is technically a lot better than what people often give him credit for

  • batio was morello's teacher

    tom can shred

he's just choosing to be imaginative and tasteful over absolute speed

i'm not dissing batio though cos fucking warpspeed is just his style

    it works for him

  • no one knows if tom morello shreds because he doesnt... now im not saying that im in love with shredders and shredding, but im tired of idiots saying that tom morello is a shredder because he never shreds he has his own technique of overdubs, wammy pedals, toggle switching, etc. etc. but tom morello does not shred not in ratm, not in audioslave, not in lock up and definitely not in the nightwatchman

  • lmao love it

folk shred. that would be most refreshing

your right i worded it wrong

    but he shows technical proficiency

    is that right :S

  • yeah he has his own style and technique but it NEVER involves shredding. I think itd be hard to shred on a classical acoustic guitar, if ur fingerpicking at least.

  • look up videos, its called flamenco

  • um....... flamenco is very different from shredding though it can also reach high tempos but i havnt heard flamenco reach the tempos of shredding and usually it reaches its tempos by not playing only one string but multiple

  • yeah it is.. you use your fingers... its shredding with your fingers.. and it sounds way better

  • isnt as fast as shredding but generally does sound better

  • its also generally more skilled and involves harmony

  • very true, it takes alot more skill actually. Finger picking also allows u to play both melody and bass at the same time.

  • actually he does sometimes in audioslave like in bulls on parade when its a shortened version without vocals after the scratching solo he shredds

  • Bulls on Parade isn't an Audioslave song.

  • No its a Rage song but Audioslave would play it without vocals.

  • the only 2 good "shredders" you named are dime and randy!

the fact you like children of bodom renders your opinion on guitar playing irrelivent!

  • Irrelevant*

And ur liking of the clash makes u an expert doesnt it? Im actually not a hardcore fan of shredding, in fact i appreciate over music (like tom morello) more, but i dont see how my appreciation for children of bodom renders my opinion on guitar playing irrelevant?

  • the fact u think shredding is impressive in the 1st place is ridiculous!

randy and dime stood apart because they could actually play!

  • When did i say its impressive?

Im not even a big fan of shredding but i do make the distinction between shredding and fast fretting. I never stated my opinion on the impressiveness of shredding. I do believe shredding is abuse by many musicians. Randy and dime stood apart not because of their ability to play but their ingenuity and their ability to write good music. But i do believe alexi laiho is a good musician and shredding is important to complement the aggressive atmosphere of his songs.

  • Rare.
