  • This is Amazing guys! Way to keep Bo Diddley alive, congrats!

  • Mamma don't like no birds chimneys 'round here Great sound guys keep postin those misss pelled toons

  • great job guys, sounds great...keep it up and keep the blues alive.

  • Hahahaha... What a great comment thread you two had going there. You both make excellent points...

GOOD SONG, GOOD BAND, I DIG IT.

  • Her name's Rossetta Tharp NOT Thorp. If ya gonna use other people and their achievments to get hits, at least have the respect to use their real names!

  • thank you for the lesson and for looking our videos ...

if we are going to be billionaires thanks to this "HITS" we will refund Rossetta family for the big mistake

PS: by the way her name is Rossetta Tharpe not THARP ;-)

    and moreover from wikipedia:

"... After marrying COGIC preacher Thomas Thorpe (from which "Tharpe" is a misspelling) ...."

so we called her with her correct original name ... bye bye

  • Oh dear another one of those people who use "Wiki" as a source of authority, tut tut. Here's the story as taken from some genuinely authoritive sources; She did indeed marry Thomas J Thorpe but, and I quote; "Her husband reportedly could not accept Tharpe's desire to perform, and the marriage did not last. When the marriage ended she kept his name, but changed its spelling to "Tharpe."" That is taken from; Notable Black American Women, Book 1, Gale, 1992.

  • Also check; Heilbut, Tony, The Gospel Sound: Good News and Bad Times, Simon and Schuster, 1971. Those sources go on to say that the change wasn't out of bitterness toward her ex husband but more a desire to "de-anglicise" Thorpe which both she and her producers didn't think sounded right for her sound and persona. So it seems to me that if you were genuinely interested in respecting her you would have used the name that she chose for herself not the disgarded name of an ex husband.

  • Lastly I accept that I misspelt her name by ommitting an "e" and adding an "s" but then I wasn't using it as an attempt to get people to waste their time and look at my lame video.

Lesson ended, hope you paid attention. Bye Bye to you too.

  • we play for people not for expert of music history ...

    people seems to like it!

if you don't jusy give your vote,

Polemics is the waste of time

    ciao

  • I'm sure people would like it, in fact if I saw you guys live I'm pretty sure from this one video that I would like it. Also from this one video it appears to me that there isn't anyone of you guys that have the genius of Sister Rosetta, and my point was and still is, if you're gonna use the great names of music to get people to look at your video, have the respect to use their names correctly.

  • good night

  • I thought you guys did a great job. Who the hell cares what birdsuckass thinks.

  • It's Birdstuckinchimney, you've not been paying attention :-)

  • Not bad, although I find Chris Barber's version more to my taste :)

  • You have the best group of videos on YouTube!

The guitarist is a given natural, the bassist is an adventure on 4 strings, and the drummer is a magician. So much out of so little. WOW.

When will you come to St Louis?

  • nice ! :)

  • you get 1 star for spamming the about section.

  • That's fine.

We don't mind the stars :-)

    thank you for looking anyway.

    PAX ET AMORE

  • Nice grove drummer man...

  • How to murder a good song!

  • Just a matter of taste...

  • Damn good groove there. We used to do JJ's version.

  • You rock

  • This can only be sung as a skiffle song, as you have managed to prove. Terrible.

  • Nice solo mate, is that one off the track? Because it was really soulful! But I have to say, I like the J.J. Cale lyrics more ;)

  • Thanks, no it was just improvvisation ...

  • Great track guys.

You would love our club nights in the Uk.

Google search "vintage sixties live" for our website with pics and clips.

  • Thanks,

If you call us we will be really glad to play in your club!

  • Like your videos, thanks for posting them.

Instead of Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters, I always considered this to be a Washboard Sam tune (rec. in the 20s). Of course a JJ Cale set standard, too.

  • Yes you're right, let's say it's the Bo Didley version ;-)

  • Very nice!
