  • Is it me, or is this video not excluding a couple of verses? Great addition btw :D thanks anyway

  • There is another wonderful segment of this show here on YouTube, where Seamus Ennis (seen in the crowd) performs An Poc Ar Buile, where he is joined by The Dubs. Great stuff, hard to believe it's almost 50 years ago.

  • Shame about Bob Lynch, I loved his voice.

  • Wonderful, there isn't that much stuff with Bob Lynch so thanks for this video.

  • is it just me or does everyone realise that the women looked much more beautiful and pure then..

  • @CMLPaddY , I think you are right. They are THINNER back then, and therefore their features are shown, rather than buried in chubbiness like modern days. Also, please note that this is in black and white that covers up a lot of zits, blotches, red eyes, etc.

  • I get teared up when I listen to this. My great granduncle, Samuel Patterson, was murdered in the New Dells Lumber Company's logging company in Kennedy, Wisconsin, on May 21, 1920 at age 41. He (and his drunken Irish father, Tobias Patterson) had become citizens on September 24, 1906. They came to the U.S. to better themselves financially, but what a sad ending came to Sam. The sadness of their emmigration.

  • @andreabaker2 That was hearbreaking!

  • Oh machree01, thank you so much!! I just found this, brilliant stuff... I'm going to see the Dubs again in two weeks in Berlin... Thanks for this video!!!

  • fabulous, love this song SO much, and to hear Ronnie singing it always makes it.

  • Capital of Irland for sure!

  • Wondering if anyone knows the origin of this song? I had heard a bob Dylan rendition on YouTube but it isn't here now. I tried to research it, I found out there is an unreleased Dylan song called fare thee well. I asked the KGB if Dylan composed the melody to fare thee well. They said he wrote the lyrics to his version, but the melody is from the leaving of Liverpool. I wondered who composed the original melody?
