In 40k, bolt guns (aka "bolters") are very large, battle rifle-type weapons that fire "bolts", or rocket-propelled rounds that have a mass-reactive charge (meaning that they explode once they get inside of a target.) They are supposedly very noisy and have the kind of recoil that only a Space Marine or an Ork can handle.

The reason this gun's favoured by players is because it's short, and the sensor is far back from the front. You angle it out and back around corners and can dominate anyone while not being exposed at all.

considering how hard it is to actually make an existing firearm to look like another one, I think it would be fair to give the maker some degree of give. You guys are way too anal for what project hes trying to accomplish.

First mistake here, It's not a heavy bolter. Heavy bolters are 2h large machine guns that are belt fed from a metal box that's side mounted.

2nd mistake (made by everyone else): This does look like a standard Bolter, however it's using the modified clips. Go look up Bolter specs.

@legionthantos First mistake : Heavy Bolters are single barreled and are belt fed from the Space Marine's backpack. Storm Bolters are twin barreled.

second mistake : It does not look like a standard Bolter at all, its a Bolter pistol without the forward clip. standard Bolters are much larger.

The back pack is the devestator. You can get h.bolters that are belt fed from a side mounting. See the Scouts heavy bolter.

We're not doing size, we're doing looks. It looks like a standard bolter. Go check the lexicanium's bolter specs. You'll see the clip specifications.
