Do you know about cmd+J? I forget what it's actually called, but instead of clipping out and then cropping the sample, you can just select it, hit ctrl+J, and you're done.
@jeffthefishdotcom Consolidating is actually a very different command. Consolidate creates an audio bounce. Cmd+E just splits the clip. This is important as consecutive consolidations with warping on will degrade the quality of your audio. Totally unnecessary. That's why I use cmd+E. Cheers!
this is very dope vespers!!! sounds legit. :) i saw this in a video a while back, check it out, search in youtube "Steinski @ Dubspot :: Learning Ableton Live & APC40 | Hip Hop" and at about 4.00min in, they talk through a cool live style effect using the apc40. no where near as smooth and believable as yours but another take on it for sure. thanks for the knowledge broseph...
Not bad, but you can't emulate a complete stop with this, like turning of the power button on a Technics deck and the vinyl coming to a complete stop?
@SimonReedDJ1 Yeah, on my Sampler rack you just turn the Time Macro all the way up and use an 8 bar clip and it produces that exact sound. I used to do a bit of turntablism so I'm pretty picky about this stuff and it sounds accurate to me.
@elevated001 With respect mate, that wouldn't even cover my hosting costs and credit card transaction fees, let alone my time in developing it. I find it odd that you'd value a production sound design tool like this less than a latte at Starbucks ;)
What shortcut did you use to select the quarter note of audio? It looks like you clicked at the start and moved the selector tool right, this would help speed up things alot so I would be grateful if you could tell me please. :)
That is pretty cool, sounds real too

@SimonReedDJ1 Sure you can. With the Sampler technique - to my ears anyways - you can recreate pretty much any turntable sound.

@DJVespers Really, a slow wind down to a complete stop, as if it was the end of the track?

Probably the coolest part about this is the back/front spin but you didnt go over what those knobs are mapped to.. So... whatd you map them to lol...

This looks great! I've been trying to achieve that effect using the transpose envelope but this seems a lot more dynamic.

I want the sampler rack, but $10 is too much in my opinion. I went to your site ready to pay $1 or $2,,,,

Sooooo.... what are the macro knobs mapped to? : P
joeheavyflow 3 months ago
@joeheavyflow Lot's of things. Envelope times, reverse sample, attack slope, Mod OSC parameters, shaper parameters, pitch env amount, peak and start parameters etc.
