i might come of very ignorant here but what language is this? if this is urdu then shouldn't it be "similar" to hindi? i am neither from Pakistan or india but I do understand hindi perfectly because of bollywood. and i have watched pakistani tv series before and have been able to understand it completely as well. but why don't I understand anything when they say "ma ra bah ghamzah kusht o qaza ra bahaanah saakht" or the entire song for the most part. except e kangana itself. will someone help?

Simply great. His performance on 16th Sept. 2011 at Qutub shahi tombs, Hyderabad was the greatest Qawali anybody would have heard of. He said he was born in Hyderabad India, later migrated to Pakistan. A proud product if India, now to be called a Pakistani. Nevertheless his talent can redraw boundaries or even scrap the boundaries altogether.

I have been watching Coke Studio (The original ) on Youtube from the time its started getting uploaded. I told all my friends , family etc , that the Indian version is a huge mistake. I mean I can agree that India has extremely good talent at par with Pak with respect to alternative and traditional music. But its not just a matter of having it. For the info of Indian fans. They belong to the "Qawwal Bachcha" gharana of Delhi, a tradition set by Sufi poet Amir Khusro. Fareed's father Ustad Munshi Raziuddin Qawwal was a learned person and a student of my grandfather Maulvi Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui RA of Hyderabad Deccan before migrating to Pakistan. I fondly remember all the love "Munshi Mian" (as my mum used to call him) and Ustad Bahauddin Qawwal used to show. May Allah grant them Jannat. Aameen.

This is awesome, I am spell bound this singing is equal to Khan sahib Abd ul karim kahn Kirana gharana and tarana is equal to ustad salamat Ali and Manna Dey. Rohail you have done a great job, Khan sahib who is eating pan is great. He has full command on surs and taal and on language and he is superb in singing bey dar sur like ustad chote Ashiq Ali khan(patiala gharana) . He is better than Nusrat Fateh Ali khan. His sargam paltas are perfect. the combination of Malkuns and rupak is great.

i was sooo mesmerized by the performance , i couldnt see any flaw ...needless to say anyone should , but i cant help myself......the first 4 minutes are an improv of swaras (kalpanaswara as it is called in india ) ...ayaz does screw up twice ! ......But at 4;21 i love the way abu muhammad signals the band to continue to the chorus ....thereby indicating the performance is still human , no matter how divine i thought it was .... sorry if i offended anyone !

The Pair rendered Classical Raga *MALKAUNS * technically super & with expression. To my view-point ,this production of Coke Studio is the best. As we know, thiis Raga has 05 notes and all KOMAL: "SA,GA,MA,DHA NI SA" (eliminating RE & PA from BHAIRIVEEN) The main combination is a MEENDH from SA to MA. I feel that Pakistan has still held onto its regional music and its cultural roots when its comes to Music where as India is mostly about Bollywood Music which is trying to be more and more westernized by the day. Pakistan has always had more singers and more diverse genres than India despite being a much smaller nation.

Dear. They belong to "AMir Khusro". AMir Khusro was a great Muslim Musician in india. He Invented many raags, and instruments. Raag and instruments, that are being used in Qawali are from Amir Khusro not from any other institution. Not from any religon.

It is qawali that has these many raags, and Qawali is Muslim invention.
