yea i own a 240sx with a 2jz and im selling to get an s15 or an s13 with the sr 6-spd outta a silvia but i heard there blocks are weak, and niether of these cars are ricers. its sad that what your muscle cars do with v8s we can do with 4 bangers and if you think boost is cheating look whos talking you got 4 extra pistons haha
but for all the money u spend to get those 4 bangers that way u could have all that power and torq stock in a small block. and no way is boost cheating, u take a 327 small block with 380 hp and put twins on it and have 0ver 800 hp easy.
Why get a 327? Sure they have a decent rpm but they're rare and kind of expensive. the only difference between a 350 and 327 are the pistons and crank shaft. So An easier thing to do is get a 350 v8 find a 400 crank and build yourself a nice little 383 stroker. Next get 2 Rochester 4bbl carburetors and a high lifter performance cam. that setup cost's less than 1.5k and makes an exceptable 450hp and a good 500lbs ft of torque (if you know how to properly tune your carburetors)
u need to visit my channel. look at the 383 stroker my dad and I built. we have the 327 in a 69 firebird but its not turbo charged. Ill have some vids of it put up later. but dude u got to see it! I kno exactly wat u mean.
thats true yeah, but power gain on v8s starts to drop off around 5800 rpms or sooner in older v8s, i dunno alot about turboing a v8, i know my 4 cyl. sr doesnt see a drop in power until after 7400rpms, and thats with stock intake. just sayin they have alot more spool time on a 4 cylinder, if u can get a v8 that has a higher rev then yeah, go ahead, i just think itd be better than waiting for the boost to gain up and do nothing buthavewheel spin when the power gets there and then having to shift.
@mmmurmomspie the reason you waiting for spool is because exhaust is spinning the turbine. if you have a big turbo on a 4 cylinder tons of lag blah blah you understand. and you could make any v8 high revving just need a longer connecting rod and shorter crankshaft. and upgraded internals to be able to take that rpm. as for turboing a v8 TONS of power because v8 with bigger displacement is gonna put out more exhaust and spin that turbine easier.
yeah, it was awesome smokin a 2010 camaro ss ppl will were saying your car isnt stock etc. put the money u put in urs into the camaro redo the race...well if u wanna go there 240 frame- 600 sr - 2k - wiring upgraded exhaust turbo intercooler, (everything u need to get it runnin) - 3kso u have the car for 5 grand....faster than a 35,000 car...put that thirty grand in the 240 and see whats faster.

mmmmm i have an s13 with a turbo ca18det and my mate is running an sr20 turbo both are pretty close to each other as far as power goes and we both agree that the ca18 is better just for the fact it holds a very high rpm easily and is easyer to hold a long slide...... im not to sure as to why BUT this is the result we got. hope that helps
ca18 is more responsive and will hold out for longer under lots of rpm, their very snappy, but the sr will make more numbers. I prefer the Ca just for the speed at which you can sling yourself around
if you slide it doesn't mean you have to have a huge ass fuckin aero kit...also ALOT of the "drift cars" where I live at care more about the mechanical and physical ability to slide rather than aero kits...
they dont have huge as aero kits but aero has alot do do with drifting. also where do you live? because most places care about the mechanical abilities
nope mine didnt easier way to find out is jack it up from back so both wheels in the air, spin one wheel forward and look at the other wheel, if its going forward then you have yourself an lsd but if its going backwards you have an open diff :)
i have 2 U12 Blue bird attesa's. 1. CA18DET. 2. SR20DET. The SR has about $6000 dollars spent the CA had about $2000 and i havent felt the SR suck you back in the seat as much, the CA revs to 8500 rpm SR only 7500. Although the SR is faster in many ways, the CA has a much more agressive powerband.

modify oil breather tenks on rocker covers and ur sweet. you can get almost as much shit for ca as the sr, you can modify bits and some bolt on as same for sr, all internals are available for the ca just as n sr, just not as much bolt on mods and electrical shit. CA FTW! hehe ill post some of my na ca monster once i have finished it. Na with forced induction on the side.
Ca kills sr, make slightly less power and tourque reliably, rather then make more unreliably. Ca18 is a great high reving strong engine, gives you a warning before it lets go, unlike sr's rods which like to come out of the block to say hello, rocker arms, alloy, head design isnt as great as a ca, tappets in head, costly, nice torque theyr nice when theyr runnin, but you cant say no to a looked after ca, sort out the oil control problem at high revs, modify sump and returns aswell as rockercover
where does it say nefin about the hp? and how can you tell that the s13 would beat the s14? Where did you find out that it had 700hp. Are you just makin up numbers in your head or sumfin???? modify oil breather tenks on rocker covers and ur sweet. you can get almost as much shit for ca as the sr, you can modify bits and some bolt on as same for sr, all internals are available for the ca just as n sr, just not as much bolt on mods and electrical shit. CA FTW! hehe ill post some of my na ca monster once i have finished it. Na with forced induction on the side.

Ca kills sr, make slightly less power and tourque reliably, rather then make more unreliably. Ca18 is a great high reving strong engine, gives you a warning before it lets go, unlike sr's rods which like to come out of the block to say hello, rocker arms, alloy, head design isnt as great as a ca, tappets in head, costly, nice torque theyr nice when theyr runnin, but you cant say no to a looked after ca, sort out the oil control problem at high revs, modify sump and returns aswell as rockercover

where does it say nefin about the hp? and how can you tell that the s13 would beat the s14? Where did you find out that it had 700hp. Are you just makin up numbers in your head or sumfin???? Or were you thinkin coz it said 175hp at 1 bar on the dyno that youd come out thinkin that you could multiply that by 4 and think nobody would notice???

This video puts into perspective the size of S14s. If you see just a picture of a S14 by itself and an S13 by itself, it appears S14's are larger.
