Wow the game is actually super easy! I remember playing it when I was like 4 years old and its was super hard... now after playing ikaruga (and it actually is easy) this seems like a walk in the park
Did anyone ever notice the bizarre similarity between this boss and the boss at the end of the first level of Space Harrier on the Master System, which was itself called 'fantasy zone'? :) Why is this?
Apparently the two games are supposed to take place in the same universe — "The Fantasy Zone". SEGA never officially announced this, but there was an unreleased sequel to Fantasy Zone called "Space Fantasy Zone" that used Opa-Opa in the 3D Space Harrier environment.
The arcade version of this is SOOOO much harder, because there's no "life bar" in the game (so no hidden potions to collect/buy either). Which means that even simple bullets, that used to take out a small portion of life away, would instantly kill you in the arcade version X__X But other than that, its still a total blast to play. I've been able to reach Round 5 in that version. I got the SMS version and have been able to beat that.
