This video spent more time talking about the gun but little about the holster which was the poit of the video. Also if you put an extended slide release you'll have more problems with causing the gun to go into slide like and not feed the rounds.
I love Glocks, and I appreciate your effort. You may want to sit down with an armorer and get a few errant facts straight, especially on the operation/ nomenclature of the weapon you are demonstrating. The errors would be more than forgivable/understandable if you weren't the president of USCC. You (as president) IMHO, should be as knowledgeable as possible, leaving guesswork to armchair quarterbacks...after all, footballs don't have ant anti-gunners going after them. Wishing you only the best.
Good review. I have owned mine for a year now - its nice and light - some may not enjoy the recoil, and it took me a while but one you get used to it, its not bad. I'll have to check into that mag +1 as yes, the stock mag can pinch the crap out of you sometimes. Great review. SUBSCRIBED.
great demo and great little .45! Glock makes really great guns. I own several. My carry gun is a Glock 26 and home gun is a Glock 21. Winter carry is my Glock 19. Jack
Only six shots? Why not just get a snub nose Revolver? Won't have to worry about Failure to feeds, jams, or anything. I suggest the S&W Bodyguard .38 Special +P+. Can't go wrong with that gun, Plus it conceals way better than any Pistol.
@VideoLobby because it isn't a .45. The best possible .38 special load available isn't as effective as low end 230 grain ball ammo in a .45. Considering shot placement is a given, penetration and wound channel/tissue destruction are the most important aspects of bullet effectiveness when immediate incapacitation is necessary. .45 beats .38 period.
@hahaland it's allright no round in chamber. I don't know if he normally carries that way, but that's how it is in the vid. You see he has to chamber a round first.
Is the fps really that much different between a 3" barrel like on the 36 and a 4.6" on the 21? From what I have heard it only looses about 50 fps on average. In your opinion is that to much of a loss to stop an attacker? I wouldn't think so but I would like an experts opinion.
Come on Tim you don't even know the proper model name of your holster and don't have a clue as to the mechanics of the safe action trigger system and yet you name your vid Glock 36 and High Noon holster???? If you are going to put yourself out there and do this you need to bone up on the basics a bit more. Other than that, I like you vids:)
Tim, I watched a video on the Glock 36 that documented a malfunction which some models have involving a failure to feed/failure to eject that essentially causes the gun to jam, and then requires one to remove the magazine in order to get the casing out. Your gun clearly does not have this problem. Do you know anything about this, and how would you suggest gong about avoiding this problem? I really like this model gun, and was considering it. What are your thoughts?
Great job on your presentation of the various conceal carry handguns. Just a heads up though, I was reading through your printout of the Glock 36 and their appears to be a typo in the concealment section where the G36 is called a G6. Keep up the great work and I'll be watching for more reviews.
Great video Tim. Quick (and potentially silly) question. You've got me curious about trying those XS Express sights. When aiming at your target, and "dotting the i", do you want your target covered by the dot or resting on top of it. Just curious. Keeping the ccw vids coming!
I carry a Glock 21, however sometimes I would like a little more concealment without giving up my 45 ACP round. So I believe that the Glock 36 will be my next purchase. Thanks again Tim. USCCA is awesome.
Yes. I've owned 2 actually along with numerous other Glocks in various calibers. Both of the G36's I"ve owned would fail to eject at least 2-5 times per 100 rounds with the exception of Remington Golden Sabers which seemed to cycle fine (non +p 230 gr).
@3XDerp The new G36 I shoot has malfunctioned once so far. 1 stove pipe (limp wrist?); so that is exactly 1 in 306 rounds fired: utilizing 100 Winch whitebox, 100 Remington, 100 can't remember off-brand, and 6 rounds of Winch JHP. That is why I asked =) with sarcasm lol
@steelmesh No prob with the sarcasm I love it. I just firmly believe that there is something wrong with the G36 as a whole that needs mass correcting. A carry gun has to fire 100% all the time. As far as limp wristing goes I purposely tried to get mine to malfunction by doing it and it fired "fine". Good luck with yours and I hope it fires if and when its supposed to.
@Thompsonark which ones do you have? i'm looking at the upper cut and the mr. softy but i can't decide if i want deep concealment and sacrificing the combat grip from the draw. i've drawn from mexican carry which i would think would be the same and i really have no problem. for my ccw i would be using a g26. would a high ride holster make a g26 print? any thoughts? i would appreaciate it.
@Dizzarchangel First, if your ".14 in of width loss" is by judging from the measurements on the Glock site, the diagram even shows that the width measured is of the slide; the width of the frame, by sacrificing the double stack magazine, compared to the Glock 30 is day and night. Try to chest holster the 36 and then a wide brick like the 30 and you'll know there's more than a ".14 in" difference; the 36 will practically disappear compared to the 30 which will press tightly against your chest
@Dizzarchangel No problem; I've been tossing the idea back and forth over a Glock 36 or a compact Springfield XD .45, hence why I searched for videos like this one, so I'm in the same boat as you.
Tim- I am happy you did a follow up review of the Glock 36 with an explanation of what went wrong on the first review. Your reviews are good, keep up the good work.
@steeltimberwolf I personally carry a full sized 1911 (I know, ridiculous! LOL) in the appendix, and I just spent most of the day yesterday sitting down while at a family get-together (stuffing my gut!) and it isn't a problem.
Is sitting down without it more comfortable? Well yeah, but then I don't have a pistol with me!
@steeltimberwolf Thats is a GREAT question. I was wondering the same dang thing. It can not be comfortable while sitting, can it? I usually carry Inside the waist band @ about 4 o'clock but I'm interested by the accessibility of the 1 or 2 o'clock position. I hope he answers you.
I subscribed to your channel with pleasure. Cool videos! Keep em coming. .45cal is my personal favorite also! Visit my channel and don't forget to comment on my vids! Thanks friend!!!
I like the new SOP. You may wish to provide some of you quality rating stats when giving the presentation. In particular the concealability rating - this gun is a 2.8 out of __? This type of data helps to speed up the viewers understanding of the gun.
The purpose of the trigger safety is to prevent the trigger being pulled by snagging on clothing or whatever else. Since the Glock has no external manual safety and all of the internal safeties are deactivated by pulling the trigger, it makes sense that the trigger should require a bit more than simply snagging on something to be depressed.
Why do you recommend the extended slide release so highly? I have been trained to rack the slide to load the first round of a fresh mag after reload. Its been stressed, "Never use the slide release to load the first round." This way you get the recoil spring's full energy to make sure the Glock returns to full battery. So the extended slide release is not really needed since it's almost never used. (except to drop the slide while an empty mag is in the gun.) I carry an unmodded G26 or G30.
Great video Tim! I'm a die-hard Glock fan. My main carry weapon is a G22, and I love it. I wasn't sure about them at first, but I figured I'd buy one to try it out, and I didn't have a .40 cal yet, so that's why I went with the G22. Turns out it's my favorite gun now. I love it!
@MegaGewehr lol, yeah I don't know many people that CCW a full-size handgun, let alone full size Glock. If it's not my G22, it's my 92FS, but I prefer the Glock. It's a great gun.
@beneaththefallen But the G22 is so insanley flat! It's only 1.13" thick. Makes it a breeze to carry. I carry my multi-tool & cell phone outside my belt so it's no big deal. I'll take 15 rounds of .40s&w rangers to a fight any day over some BS like 5 .38spl or 7 .380's.
I have big hands, so a carry gun for me needs to be a little bigger, Then again I am 6'7" and 275lb so all things relative a Mossberg 500 might fit.
Seriously tho, I'm looking at the 9mm H&K P30, or SIG 229. Glocks feel a little weird in my hand, I think it's because the grip angle is different than most guns.

Glock 30 vs. Glock 36? Is the .14 in of width loss, worth the loss of 4 rounds? Doesn't seem to be much of a difference. Thoughts anyone?
