Yes, there is no way that Ringo was just the daft drummer. He is a very talented man having to live in three huge shadows thanks for a nostalgic post.
That's George Harrison on the slide?! If he ripped it like that in The Beatles, I would've like them more. And if he can play slide that well, why did The Beatles have to import Eric Clapton on As My Guitar Gently weeps?
@Flingadingding Yes, that is George Harrison playing the slide. Part of bringing Clapton in on While My Guitar was to have John & Paul sort of fall in line & be on their best behavior as a guest was in their midst. That was a large part of it. George's playing on this song shows he certainly could handle the demand of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
The cover of the Original 45 had a Stock Photo of Boris Karloff,in his Frankenstein makup, smoking a cigarette! The Apple on the label was coloured Poison Blue,I remember!
This song, from what I understand, was about his fights with Paul McCartney. I guess the fights they had after The Beatles broke up were really cutthroat. I wonder if they made up.
@bluemeanie81 I have that. and also the rumors that Billy Shears Campbell or Phill ackrill( Depending on what PID site you goto ) Had massive cosmetic surgery the Frankenstein monster would-be-Paul, if you beleive the PID SITES.
This reached no 2 in the UK, and was as close as Ringo got to a solo no 1 here. What I really don't get is why the superior Photograph only reached no 8. At least the Americans had good taste, as that song reached no 1 in the Hot 100
@cbak12sg The American charts are so hyped towards airplay, even back then. At least a Number 2 in the UK is secured by record buyer support and not corporate politics!
Many rubbish records have made it to number 1 on either side of the Atlantic, many great records stalled outside the top 10, commercial success should never be confused with musical greatness.
Franz Ferdinand plagiarized this song... SEE

Why does this only have 14,684 views? This guy is a former Beatle he should have atleast 100,000 views just based on that.

kja427 7 months ago
@kja427 Thats a common misconception but he got the idea from Marc Bolan of T. Rex fame Marc used the phrase boogaloo alot while talking.
Caveira138 7 months ago
@Caveira138 Exactly, why should Ringo attack Macca like that? Paul was writing stuff for him on "Ringo" and generally helping.
violatress 4 months ago
@violatress George wrote more songs on that album and Paul wrote one song and John I think wrote one song.
