Do I have to know a lot about music in order to sing? Like reading music and playing an instrument?

Can you show us what you mean by using some of today's hottest recording artists? For example, this lesson on "singing with power", still use your explanations that you have in your videos but it would be great if you use some of today's and past recording stars. Like for this video maybe you could play on your piano snippets of songs song by some power singers like Aretha, Patti, Whitney, Jenifer, and/or Gladys and for the male power vocalists to emphasize your examples even more.

Rodger, this is only the 2nd video of yours I watched, but like 4 or 5 times already -- as I was trying to kind of sing along with the concepts -- you managed to correct my mistake as I was making it. Great explaination. The best vocal teacher I've seen on YouTube. Thanks a lot.
