In WWII era Germany could defeat Russia 1v1 and stalemate USA 1v1 (unless they built up their navy, in which case the war would be more or less even considering the lack of islands to use as forward bases in the Atlantic. Any invasion from either side would be spotted from thousands of miles away and engaged.) However, Germany could not win 2v1 versus both USSR and US. It is an impossibility, as was shown, even with general superiourity in technology and troop quality.
As for Vietnam... can't blame the loss of that war on the US military. They won every engagement. Loss at Vietnam was the fault of the politicians and the American people back home. I love the complaints about the US casualties over the decade or so of US involvement in that war... have those folks not heard of Antietam or Gettysburg?
As for Russia... Stalin had no intention of attacking Germany. Most in their high command considered it unfeasible; the state of Red Army wouldn't allow for that type of attack until mid 43. Hitler had planned on invading USSR for years. His hatred of Communism wouldn't allow him to not do so. Only reason the invasion happened so soon instead of later is because of the performance of Red Army in Finland. Hitler no longer believed the Red Army was as potent a fighting force as he thought.
The treaties with Japan actually didn't require Hitler to go to war with the US. (His generals heard about the declaration over the radio...)
He went to war with the US for two reasons: 1 - He thought the US were weak and would not have the stomach for war and 2 - He believed the Japanese would help him in his crusade against Communism. Unfortunately, neither of which turned out to be true. The United States of the 40s is not the same United States we have now.

No other army on earth had, or has, as well organized, armed and trained soldiers. The fact is that German generals and soldiers were the best on earth and they show'd it many times during the war. @deadcauz He didn't choose to fight Russia. Reports were showing Russian troops and armored vehicles were moving towards the border preparing to attack Germany. Hitler chose the only possible option, preemptive strike. The declaration of war against the U.S. after the attack against Pearl Harbor was only because of the treaties signed with Japan that required him to do so.

But after 1938 most of the Germans realised what was happening, he was concentrating his powers on Poland and in 1939 the war broke out, many Germans didn't want another Versaille treaty. Believe me, after they really knew what he was up to, many of the Germans wanted Hitler out of the system. But unfortunately, they couldn't do that. Do some more research about it. I'm not a nazi or a fascist, i'm pure Historical.

I think, like in most wars, the German people supported it until they realized they couldn't win. And that was pretty obvious early on in the war.

@bweazel You're right in most facts, but some you need to recall. Please read WWII books from 2 sides and stay neutral in the stories. And if you will read it, you will understand why they chose Hitler and why the war broke out, many factors have played in WWI and WWII. It's all political and who's the victim? The people. And i don't ay they supported Hitler, but only in the beginning years of his dictatorship, after 1940 and especially after 1941 Germans wanted him gone, look to Valkyrie.

I'm pretty well educated on their history after WWI, pretty well educated on Hitlers rise to power, pretty well educated on the National Socialist Worker's Party of Germany's demands and how they gained popularity.
Yes, the people are always the victims in war, but you're trying to say they're innocent. I disagree.

@tjoolder8 I will agree with that. After 1941, they wanted nothing to do with Hitler. But really, that's only because they knew the gig was up. They were being stalled on the Eastern front (and they paid a very heavy price for the gains they did get), the Americans had just entered the war, the African campaign was falling to pieces and that meant Italy was close to falling. It was very clear by the end of 1941 that the German's would lose the war, only a matter of time

This is typical human behavior though. Not trying to put the German people down, but to deny that the majority of them practiced some insane and immoral philosophies is really not up to debate. Most of them did, most of them jumped on the band wagon, and that cannot really be forgiven. In my humble opinion.

@tjoolder8 Lies. A vast majority of Germans worshipped Hitler to the end, and some even after his death. In 1940 Hitler conquered Western Europe, his popularity at an all time high. In 1941 he conquered the Balkans and large swaths of Russia (operation barbarossa was an initial success). Operation Valkyrie only took place in 1944, long after the tide of war turned against the Wehrmacht. Other than a few disgruntled officers, there was virtually no opposition to Hitler within Nazi Germany.
