I heard it sold at Barrett-Jackson in January for $1 million. The estimate had been $1.5 million.

I think it sold for $475K, not $1M -- still a lot of dinero for a car. The value I think is more a reflection of the B702 as "fine art" rather than a "hotrod" IMHO. Not many paintings or sculptures you can drive around. Yes that was "Sneaky Pete" in the end.

Yeah you're right. I saw that in another video on here and asked about it. The guy who videotaped the auction said yeah, he recalls it was $475 K, and furthermore the bid was apparently placed by one of the two Blastolene guys, to save some dignity. Even if it had sold for $475K, I mean, that wouldn't be shabby, would it? Considering they spent maybe $40,000 or $50,000 (just a guesstimate--Im probably on the high side) building it!

Yup! Starting in 1960, GMC introduced their own line of "big-block" V-6s that ranged from 305ci to 478ci, a V-8 of 637ci, and a V-12 of 702ci that was based on two 351E V-6s.

The GMC Twin-Six 702 had a one-piece block, but used four separate cylinder heads (351 heads), two intake manifolds and carbs, four exhaust manifolds, and a 90°-driven dual distributor.
