@762SLR762 I didn't speak of Stade de France. 3 sites are built : le vélodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, la base nautique de Vaires-sur-Marne et la piscine olympique dAubervilliers. I'm leaving an hour from London by train, I can see England (when clear weather) a few kilometers from my home... so I'm a neighbour. I just want to say that, actually, most of French are relieved having not won the olympics games ! And I bet, Paris will not be candidate before decades !

@tenseman08 French was first very deceived... but some monthes later, the great majority of us is very happy that it was not Paris which got the Olympic games ! It's a financial desaster (ask to the Greeks ;-)) a security mess and when we realize that the former pharaonic budget of London is now increased 3 ou 400 % !! God, thanks for French money !

That costs nothing compared to the Olympics. Football is the most popular sport in the world only because it is so inexpensive to play. You can play it naked with a loaf of bread. Hockey, on the other hand, costs thousands and thousands to play, even for a young kid
