  • How nice.

  • Thank you.I stand corrected.I will say however that this Song would be an Anthem for Women,Men,Children and relatives who suffer too.

  • So deeply sad, but a great Song.

  • R.I.P Maureen. I still find it unbelievable that you are gone, but this song keeps your memory alive <3

  • @69MC97gc

He wrote it for Ringo's kids, because his first wife (their mother, Maureen Cox) died

  • Wonderful song...She makes me cry....

  • MCCARTNEY AT HIS BEST

  • Liittle Willow...a tree that whispers and trembels.......and the video-Who do you think this is for?

  • there are a lot of mccartney tunes that would make for a great children's album; beatles, too. imagine had they stayed together and moved on to animation projects. sigh. anything, this is a beautiful song and says a lot.

  • What flawless children omg

  • naõ acredito que tem gente que não ame a musica dp Paul

  • One of my favorites on Flaming Pie. It's so sweet Paul would write such a lovely song for some-one close who had passed away. The music video compliments it in such a lovely way. In short, a slight masterpiece.

  • Paul wrote this song in memory of maureen with a dedication to her children

  • Great song! Anyone know the main chords for guitar? I wanna surprise my dad with this for christmas(:.

  • every time I listen this song feel the pain and love, is very touching, also makes me think about Paul' sadness when Linda died, i'm glad he is happy again

  • I played this song at the memorial service of my husband for our three young daughters September 2010. It's a soothing song for children after the death of a parent. I have always loved this song.

  • So beautiful. So bitter sweet but that is how life is. Love Paul.

  • God, this song is so beautiful.

  • Maureen,i ♥ u

  • Speaks volumes about the kind of person Paul is. Beautiful song, when Linda found she was dying from breast cancer, she said, "It's about me now, isn't it?" How sad.

  • IT WAS ABOUT MAUREEN STARKEY......

  • Love this song..

    Love Paul McCartney. <3

  • I think this song was for Ringo Starr :) cause Maureen died and Ringo lost a big part of him...so Paul McCartney wrote this song for him (: sweet man that one is

  • @JoeandNickareccute11 Who did she cheat with? George Harrison?!

  • This song makes me cry :'(

  • Genius.

  • Comment removed

  • It breaks my heart...Paul wrote this song for Ringo's kids after Maureen (Ringos 1st wife) died of cancer and then soon after it applied to his own life as Linda got sick

  • @JoeandNickareccute11 really? :O

  • Does anyone know who the little gril is in the video? Her real name.

  • @jimbartz I could ask my little brother, its him in the video so he should know. he's 19 now so i doubt he will remember but i could ask next time i see him. why do you need to know her real name, she is probably like 24 now, aha.

  • beautiful..thanks for post it...

  • This video always beaks my heart. Feels like that film 'Truly, Madly Deeply' or the first 5 minutes of 'Up'. Like a life in 5 minutes.

  • does the lady in the video survive or is that her child all grown up?

  • @johninis the lady in the video dies

  • @caprice6=Linda died in1998.

  • Me hizo llorar. u.u

  • Reminds me of the good times i had with my friend Joe who passed away ....

  • Caprice6---thanks for the update, I knew it wasn't in 86 as somene else mentioned. It couldn't be, as I mentioned I saw them in concert in 93, and it was the best concert ever and I've been to alot throught out my lifetime.

    thanks again

  • that boy in the video clip is my Lil' brother. no lie. we now live im Australia-this was filmed in England. he is 19 now! he's studying law at Harvard and he also doing a bit of modeling with Janice Dickinson. I can't believe i seen this vid I forgot all about it.

  • This is also on the Diana Tribute CD

  • Linda could not have died in '86, I saw them in concert in 93 with "The Band".

  • @Mgarguemare Linda died in May 97

  • @Niardnaenihsnus ,"Little Willow," is a song McCartney had originally written for Ringo Starr's children upon the death of their mother, Ringo's 1st wife, Maureen Starkey, even though Ringo had divorced Maureen he still felt the loss when she died of cancer- that's why this song was made- for Ringo and Maureen's kids to help them cope.--its from the McCartney years DVD

  • This video is really touching. I think it's a beautiful tribute to Maureen.

Their daughter Lee really had a brain tumor?

  • this video always makes me cry making me think about my mom, but its such a beautiful song and video

  • god, he looked so young even at the age of 55! Linda's death really aged him, if you ask me. Still one hell of a songwriter!

  • Maureen was Ringo's first wife. They remained very close and Ringo was at her side as she lay dying. She had leukemia. Later, Ringo's daughter Lee would develop a brain tumor which was successfully removed. This song is dedicated Ringo and Maureen's three children.

  • So is the album "Flaming Pie" named after what John said thats how he got the name The Beatles?

    Just asking!

  • Linda McCartney died in 1986, right? It COULD have been in memory of Linda if you really believed so.....what happend to Maureen?

  • Linda died in 1998.

  • No, It is in memory of Ringo Star wife.

  • simply beautiful

  • don't you mean in the memory of Linda McCartney????

  • It might be for her as well, but in the album sleeve for Flaming Pie that this song was "written after Paul learned of the death of a dear friend. He created the song not only as an immediate personal response to the sadness, but, hopefully as a salve for his late friend's children."

Plus, it was recorded in Nov. 1995, so it couldn't have been about Linda. Personally I think it's really sweet that he wrote a song for someone dear.

  • true, thanx for the info. :)

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids its about ringo starrs ex wife who died xx

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids That dear friend was Maureen Starkey, Ringos ex! I thought about Pauls mum also....very sad, great song.

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids Paul knew about Linda's illness. On my opinion it's main that Linda wasn't dead we can still think that it was about her.

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids The song was for Maureen Cox, Ringo's ex wife. She died of cancer.

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids this song is for maureen starkey LOL

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids i believe theres another version of this video on youtube where there's a interview with paul where he says he was on vacation and he found out a close friend to the family had died..so he wrote little willow

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids For Maureen Cox ex Ringo´s wife. She died of cancer.

  • @PaulMcCartneyVids McCartney wrote this about Ringo's first wife, Maureen, who died of cancer. Paul remained friends with Maureen and the children she had with Ringo. When she died, Paul wrote this to comfort the kids.

  • a very beautiful song

  • @thekillers1293 no,"Little Willow," is a song McCartney had originally written for Ringo Starr's children upon the death of their mother, Ringo's 1st wife, Maureen Starkey.--its rom the McCartney years DVD
