  • To be honest if the Irish where to be getting a main battle tank I'm hoping by the time I join the cavalry corps they'll have the leopard a6 or the m1a1 or m1a2 arbrahms 2 of the best tanks in the world

  • @The143500 challenger 2 best tank in the world

  • @sprPee it has been proven that the leopard a6 is the best MBT in the world

  • @The143500 not likely, Leos are not battle tested....the Challenger 2 is the only European tank to serve in a full spectrum war....so did its predecessor

  • @The143500 abrams are not good tanks, a chinese t99 oy as you said a leopard or challenger 2 is a lot better. nowdays the abrams 120 smoothbore cannon is underpowered compared to average 150mm

  • there to small, 76 mm , look at all the elevation on the gun, trajectory , need more of 90mm .50 as coax, thru a tow II on top

  • @GalaticSpaceHero There small because their recon vehicles. Were not in BIG battles.

  • They should open fire on the nearest Mosque

  • exelente video scorpion un buen tanque

  • excelente video

    saludos

  • j'ai fait mon service militaire a bord de CVRT et je regrete que notre armee ai changé de vrai bolide ces char

  • ye tell the government to end the embargo and then maybe we will join .

  • Nice to see the old girls still getting some use, esp still with the J60 power...

No need for MBT's - look at numbers of Chally 2's now being mothballed. Scorp is more than capable for most roles.

  • @zimmerman898

Good ta see ya know what your talkin bout ya retard, the British Armed Forces actually use these extensively, they also have the schimitar and spartan versions of these, come back when ya know what you're talkin bout. Lmao....xD

  • @zimmerman898

The Scorpion actually originates from Britain, brainstorm.

  • @zimmerman898 "boot" fuck???????? oneder???? Is that how morons speak?

  • @zimmerman898 When have the British and Irish armed forces engage in combat with each other?

  • @Predmarine alot thats how ireland got thein independance !!!!

  • @codcelticman Yeah almost one hundred years ago. Now Ireland is England's main trading partner. If one falls so does the other.

  • we are a mighty force 4 such small numbers...............join the irish defence forces 2day people!!!!;)

  • more people should join de irish army!!!!

  • Don't know why people keep banging on about MBTs in the context of Irish defence. Irish terrain is totally unsuitable for them, tanks were originally designed for the plains of europe to be deployed in large formations. Bogs, narrow roads with stone walls and hedge rows are death traps for MBTs. Think normandy - bocage and you'll get the idea.

  • @ado75

Absolutely right! MBT's struggle in close country. I'd like to see the larger MBT's gun trying to turn round to engage in a tree lined country lane in Ireland. The Normandy bocage is a classic example of heavy armour being slaughtered due to the terrain. I know the Scorp's are old now, but they can still do the job for the Irish defence force.

  • That poor Waterfall!

  • hopefully one of the rounds ends up through anglo irish bank

  • @ruseriouslike just one? your very forgiven haha

  • @ruseriouslike Havent heard of that bank in a while.Heard there in big trouble for blowin all that money.

  • Small for a reason, they are reconnaissance vehicles which should be small fast, nimble with armour and a decent gun... Thats pretty much what a Scorpion is.

  • @DFMagazine that is so true and the gun is more than decent enough

  • @DFMagazine Well the fun mantlet cannot take the strain of the recoil and thus cracks over time. That's the one big issue with scorpion and thats with the 76mm, I'm not sure how much worse the 90mm cockrill variant used by Holland was.

This issue is part of the reason that my country got rid of scorpion. Are you in service yourself? I'm KRH

  • man scorpions are small... we need some T65's got knows theres thosands of them left lying around in siberian forrests doing nothing.

  • @TheJWalshVlog lol yeh man they could come in handy =)

  • @TheJWalshVlog Why would we need T65s or and other MBT?

  • @TheJWalshVlog What use would T-65's be ? If the Defence Forces were ever to expand into a larger force with the need for MBT's surely we would look at a western model. Perhaps the Challenger II for example. However as it stands there is no need for anything other than rec. vehicles

  • @wcairsoft do u no the price of a chalanger 2

  • @XxXIRISHSNIPER €5,590,000 per unit. I'm not suggesting we should get them or anything, simply pointing out that if we ever were to expand (as unlikely as that is) they would be a wiser choice than T65's.

Just in case you were interested, the defence budget for 2008 was €1.27 billion

  • @wcairsoft most is on soldigers wages not on equipment

  • @XxXIRISHSNIPER I know, but the likes of Croatia had a smaller budget than that and they maintain a far more capable military.

Anyway it doesn't matter one way or another. Nobodies going to attack us anyway

  • @wcairsoft javilin missiles were a better bye and so were the apc than mbt
