i rode that aircraft from Dubai to London last December. even with a capacity of 800 something passenger i can honestly say it has loads of room in it and the economy seats are comfortable. for me the a380 giant of the skies of today and the 747 giant of the skies then(which i've been on it) are the 2 best plane that's ever created in the history of aviation.

When they begin the "stretch" process, as they do with all commercial aircraft, the A380 is just going to be massive beyond all comprehension. Honestly, I can see it becoming the worlds first thousand-seater commercial aircraft. Just mind-blowing!

my buddys and i were plane watching yesterday at yyz on airport road. this thing flew over our heads while we were standing at the beginning of the runway. swear to god, the thing is so big, it doesnt fit in your field of vision. unreal!!!!

@kostellic to be frank the 380 doesn't take so much of a skill to fly. More skill is required to taxi the plane on the ground :D

@kostellic The A380 is only getting the recognition because its new and its the bigges plane in the world (flying commercial flights the antonov 225 is the biggest of all) other than that people dont care about planes. Back in the early 70's the 747 had a lot of recognition now people dont care much about it just like they're already forgetting the 380 lol

@kostellic Not really mate, SKILL is not being able to fly a plane. You could fly the A380 yourself with only 12 hours of training, but this is only basic take off and landing of the aircraft the real SKILL you talk about comes with experience, decision making, situational awareness and good aviation knowledge. If you understand the principles of lift and flight, that is all you need to fly an aircraft, its just like driving a car, only its bigger and requires more preparation.

@kostellic The hardest parts about flying the 747 and the a380 would have to be the landing and then the taxiing. I assume autopilot is on 90-99% of the flight.

NO? What exaclty do you think is the point in making it that big? The bigger the plane, the cheaper to operate it per person. Thus, flying on an A380 is cheaper than on a 747.

it doesn't take an hour and a half for baggage.. it depends on the day and its customs that takes wayy too long. ive never had to wait longer than 5 -10 minutes for bags

Come on unload that baggage quicker!! ;) It takes roughly an hour and a half to get your baggage on this flight! Trust me I got off this from Dubai and had to run to get to my connecting Vancouver flight!

nice to see airbus put a proper size tail on it :P ... the other airbus planes seem to have small tails.

i bet that eventually they'll make a stretched model of this airplane.... the huge size of the engines and the relatively stubby body make it seem like it could handle being longer. although it is a full double decker.... wait and see :)

My dad was the captain on that ACA E-190 at 2:39. he said the 380 looked like a beast even from where he was. Great capture. I didn't know it was coming till like 2-3 mins before it landed. Otherwise I would have been at YYZ to see it.
