I always liked the M-14 - it's not as "science-fiction" looking as the M-16. The M-14 was America's last great infantry rifle IMO. There's just something about the M-16 that I don't like. Perhaps it was the fact that mine literally fell apart on me the first time we fired them on full automatic in the Army. The barrel guard fell off after my 3rd clip and fried my left hand! That was in the days before they switched to the semi-auto or 3 shot burst variation.

I have NO IDEA what the twist distance is in any of my weapons. I don't reload, and I'm not a competition shooter. I just like to blink. As for you google accusation - I haven't said anything that would require looking up. My knowledge of firing arms is limited, so why would I have to "google" it?
