Great movie moment. Loved this scene when I first saw it as a little girl and still love it now ,maybe even more. But as a woman who also loves to work with wood, hammer, saw and axe I am glad to live in a dífferent time and place.
@brisco42 Thanks for the tip. What little I heard of Zhivago & Lawrence was so impressive that now I have to watch them both to truly appreciate the music.
One of many great scenes in Witness but this, this is the best along with the kiss in the film. A brilliant movie. Hitchcock would have even said I could have not made it any better.

They teach that it is wrong to use electricity, but when they get sick, and have to go see a doctor and be put in a hospital for medical care , now all of a sudden it is ok to use electricity. If using electricity is wrong sometimes, why is it not wrong all the time? Religion makes a fool out of people doesn't it, and really sends a lot of people to hell, but Jesus Christ the Son of God saves. Aren't you glad that Jesus never said: Thou shalt not use electricity.

Amish is a class of people which reside in U.K & USA & are around 350000 in no. They are bearded with no moustache. They pay taxes but dont utilize any advancement in science. No one objects to their life style but why do we object the simple life style of people of Northern areas of Pakistan & Afghanistan?

The music is of a monumental beauty!
It is the kind of music which could be best played inside one of the 13th century cathedrals in France or Germany.
Even when not being raised in a Christian manner, like me,being in such a cathedral makes one humble and respect the maker of our universe.
