You my friend, are mis-informed about Dari. Dari isn't an ancient Persian language and was never spoke in ancient Persia. There is old Persian; in which look like Elamite text. Middle Persian; in which look like European text, and now Farsi; in which looks like Arabic. Dari is a dialect of Persian. But everything else is true.

Middle Persian; in which look like European text, and now Farsi; in which looks like Arabic. Dari is a dialect of Persian. But everything else is true.

Pashtuns had the power in Afg more than 260 years and just see how the country looks like today.I do respect pashtun ppl, but their leader didnt do anything good to the country, not even to the pashtun them selves. Afghan's name has only 250 years history, but Tajiks have over 5000 years history in afghanistan. for example, telatapa, I khanim, Bagrametc all shows the history of tajiks. name of arghandab, Lashkargah, kandahar etc all named in tajik's language, farsi. all pashtun's king's such as Zahirshah adopted farsi as thier first langugae, because they knew the fact, but ignored it, because they want to creat history for pashtuns in afghanistan. today tajiks are 40% in afganistan and 65% farsi speakers.

@Tolu1991 "tajiks", "farsiwan", all of this does injustice to the afghans born speaking dari because dari is their language, not farsi, although dari is closest to parsi, which is what Persians used to speak, becaue dari and our dari poets gained popularity and spread from Afghanistan (when its name was Khorasan) into Iran, as an Iranian poet cited on my page declares himself in his book. Dari is over 2000 yrs ol,&derived from Sanskrit (an old afghan language) the proof was found on a stone

I personally don't see differance between pashton,tajik,hazzara,uzbek or turkmen but that's just me :)
