@EnchantedMagickLove I don't think there are any lyrics per se. Jonsí will sometimes sing in his own made up language, which is meant to sound like a mix of Germanic languages. You make your own meaning in the lyrics up.

I heard this song before Dead Space came out, but when I watched the trailer for the game, Major Goosebumps... I have never seen a trailer utilize such a work of art so well...

It fit the game so perfectly, the entire mood of the game, the storyline, everything... This song is the reason I bought Dead Space and I loved every minute of it.

Sigur Ros is definitely an amazing band, and I'm glad they're getting recognition via popular media such as Dead Space, and 127 Hours. They deserve it.

Lisa Gerrard: Sacrifice Is another artist who sings this way and many more.. That's why I said.. "The lyrics I made" (my personal feeling).. Sigur Ros are my overall fav band and I do love Dead Space as well. But, honestly, I can't figure out the point about this fuss. The game is one thing, SR are another. Dead Space is an excellent game, with or without this song. And Sigur Ros haven't certainly become popular because of the game: indeed, I do believe they don't actually rely at all on the game as a means for success.

Lisa Gerrard sang on and co-wrote the Gladiator soundtrack. She also did the music for Whale Rider, collaborated on some other films. She has two solo albums, an amazing record with Patrick Cassidy who composed the opera in Hannibal, and most importantly was half of Dead Can Dance, with Brendan Perry. Without this band's influence, things would be very different today. For an excellent introduction to DCD's best period, look for The Host of the Seraphim.
