  • Jajajaja xD

  • I remember this was on the VHS for Godzilla 1985 and it always creeped me out.

  • does someone know what the betty boop clip is called tht plays after this on vch ?

  • Comment removed

  • This is crap.

  • How's that music called? I am searching for ir everywhere.

  • @greeksotiris It's the first part of Rossini's "William Tell Overture." The second part is the Lone Ranger theme.

  • @mathfactor Dude thanks a LOT! I was hearing this music in many cartoons and was searching for.

  • What is so great about this cartoon again? It's apparently gotten alot of praise but for what? It's short, poorly drawn, lacks no plot, characterization, lack of emphasis on anything really...

  • @bud389 Its the greatest Godzilla movie ever made. The greatness stems from how short it is, and from Godzilla simply squishing the little twerp instead of having a long drawn-out fight from it.

  • "Super Egg vs. Godzilla" is another epic battle.

  • Writers forgot Bambi's Plot Armour, -1000 points from Gryffindor.

  • I really hope the boy I used to sit next to in sixth grade saw this video.

    You know who you are.

  • Yum.......venison!

  • A classic. Nothing produced in the You-Tube era comes close

  • @balidoug I've seen plenty that has.

  • Well, it's not what I expected. Which ironically was the artists' original intention (although for different reasons) thus the aesthetic is kept almost completely intact. I love it.

  • A classic that I've heard about for decades but never saw until today.

  • @brutonak You obviously don't get the idea of this...

  • Lame! Genius!

  • um.....what?!?!? lol

  • I liked the part where Bambi met Godzilla.

  • credits are even longer then entire action

  • Dirty soles feet of Godzilla.

  • Awwwwe tautersauce!!!!!

  • Soooooo... why is this on the list of 50 cartoons to see before you die?

  • @psychodragoncat It's a classic from 1969 ;)

  • Monty Python?

  • @NICKREAPER316 no, studio Rocket

  • @salesmx You ever watched Monty Python? They always had a giant cartoon foot stomping on stuff.

  • Monty Python?

  • As a kid i Laughed my ass off after watching this.

  • Take that Bambi.

  • This was an opener on my brother and I's video (you know... back in the days of VHS) for DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS. I am so glad someone put it on here!

  • how did animation work before computers? Did they film this with a camera

  • @BikiniDeathSquad many many many drawings in order.

  • This is a classic! ATTN DISNEY: This is the real world!

  • Mute this video and pause it at :13. Open a new window for the song Sangreal by Septic Flesh. Play both at the same time. Shit Brix.

  • FATALITY!

  • when Godzilla steps on Bambi it sounds like the ending to the song: A Day in the Life by The Bealtles

  • this, for some reason, depressed me as a kid :/

  • This is considered one of the great animated shorts.

  • It's about time somebody killed that sissy ass deer.

  • @SEGAman323 How dare you say that!

  • @Rkerekes13 Why Bambi sucks

  • @SEGAman323 Bambi does NOT suck!

  • @Rkerekes13 Uh yes he does.

  • @SEGAman323 No, he doesn't!

  • @Rkerekes13 You don't think he sucks alright bambi is the gayest thing ive ever seen he constantly asks so many stupid question to the point he needs to get sniped in the face and to add insult to engery he always has that stupid look on his face what does he suffer from downs syndrome or mental retardation you'd never tell the diffrence for the the way his voice sounds he has the type of personality where i want to throw him off a building in to a high way bouncing from car to car down to the

  • @SEGAman323 You're such a liar!

  • @Rkerekes13 Oh i assure you i really do want him to get hit by a train.

  • @SEGAman323 No, what I mean is, everything say about Bambi isn't true at all.

  • @Rkerekes13 I don't know he sounds pretty gay to me so if he doesn't get hit by a train than roadkill by semi seems pretty funny to.

  • @SEGAman323 Well, he's not gay, okay? And anything bad that happens to him is no laughing matter at all.

  • @Rkerekes13 yes it is bambi still sucks ass i wish i had a gun right now so i could put a shotgun shell to the face and than shove eight sticks of dynamite up his sissy faggot of a deer ass

  • @SEGAman323 No, it's not! No, he doesn't!

  • @Rkerekes13 Aha ha hahh ha are you serious i say death to the faggoty deer

  • @SEGAman323 I'm dead serious.

  • @Rkerekes13 o come on there is nothing wrong with starting an anti bambi campain

  • @SEGAman323 Oh, yes, there is!

  • @Rkerekes13 no theres not he should have died with his mother

  • @SEGAman323 Yes, there is! And I've had just about enough of you! This conversation is over!

  • @Rkerekes13 fine im sorry i upset you i can see the conversation is indeed over farewell

  • They should do another crossover called Justin Bieber meets Godzilla.

  • @Sento35 Godzilla would run away, front claws covering the earholes while roaring in agony

  • This is actually sort of frightening... The music makes it all seem so horrifying and sinister.

  • I don't like censorship. But the Nazi term "regressive art" here is appropriate .Is it possible to take seriously?

  • That's it? That was added in the 50 greatest cartoons?

  • I saw this when I was little but for the life of me I can't remember what I saw it with.

  • @bryanmebe2 I saw it on the Kenny Everett Video Show in the "From the Bowels of Thames Television" section. Hilarious stuff =)

  • Bud, sometimes it's better to look in the abyss instead of the mirror, especially if you're going to the beach today and your chest is hairier than Ron Jeremy's ass

  • Why weren't the Beatles credited for the end if the flick?? Notice when Godzilla stomped on Bambi the music was the end of "A Day In a Life " the piano ending of that song!! It's a wonder ALL four of them didn't bitch about it!!

  • Was marv newland involved in the making of this film at all?

  • I'm 12 what is this?

  • You'll understand when you're older

    @Gooza3

  • Lamest movie ever

  • where is bambis' mommy and daddy???

  • This is such a fantastic film! So short but it contains such a beautiful storyline and exotic and unique animation! This even beats out Mulan 2!

  • i'm pushing 40, and this is still as funny now as it was when i was a teenager.

    XD

  • Next part will be "Bambi meets Monty Python".

  • this movie cost $100M to make

  • LOL my english teacher sent me here :D

  • I'm drunk and this wasn't funny. Maybe 50 years ago . . .

  • Is there any scenario you can think of where Bambi wins this encounter?

  • @VortigernPendragon The lawsuit-phase of the disagreement?

  • Did he died?

  • I saw this by seeing a picture but I was like nah bit like 2 years later I was like let's see it and then I was like lol

  • this

    is

    beautiful

  • wtf?!booooooooooooooooooom

  • marv newland :produced by mr. and mrs. newland

  • el pianop de un dia en la vida the beatles

  • THAT shiz is scary and funny

  • I saw this as an intro to a movie as a kid, can't remember which movie though. Anyone else introduced to this cartoon this way?

  • If you're thinking that this film is extraordinary because of its virtuosic animation, you're kind of missing the point.

  • First saw this at youth group about 30 years ago and just shared with my 15 yr old son.

hysterical then and still hysterical 30 years later!

  • I love this!

I once checked it out from the public library, on Super 8 tape, rented a projector, just so I could watch it! :)

Old school humor, you know. Satire. It was making fun of movies with way too many credits.

  • @bOkAchanKLa Maybe it's better than the godfather, but THIS DOES NOT TOP PULP FICTION!

  • I'm not 100% sure but I think Marv Newland worked on this film. ;)

  • my mom saw this when she was younger and it still kills her XD

  • Poor Bambi...

And bad Godzilla. But soon many people will have to be careful

  • I remember seeing this in an intro to a godzilla movie as a kid. I don't remember any details unfortunately (i.e. which godzilla movie, years, etc). I just recall watching it before the standard "laying waste to tokyo" part.

  • cruel

  • This is the classic...for those who want to imitate it, you miss the whole effect if you're not doing the "credits" over Bambi, as he innocently frolics in the meadow, as in the original. Love it.

  • whats the song in the beginning?

  • @TheArchon1

It's "Daybreak" from "The William Tell Overture". It immediately leads into the famous "Lone Ranger" portion of the overture.

  • so, who got here from tvtropes?

  • @Kytseo I did.

  • I did.

  • @Kytseo ......me.

  • I love all of the credits at the beginning. I'm glad I saw this again, it's been years since I first heard about it.

  • two of them are great but not when they are together :I

  • Poor Bambi : ' (

  • Lalalalala..............................BOOM!

  • I seem to remember this film being much, much longer. It made the punchline a lot funnier.

  • Bambi sux anyways. Godzilla kicks ass!

  • I remember this video from back in the 70's when cable first came out. Good old classic.

  • This was before Monty Python, National Lampoon Magazine, SNL, etc. In a way, this was Ground Zero of Alternative Comedy.

  • my friend actually believes his mom made this...

  • No you idiots, this is obviously Bambi's mother. Did you really think they'd let a cute dear just get shot? No, she had to go out as epically as possible.

  • It would have been funnier the other way around. But still, AAAAAAAAAAAAUUGH nonetheless.

  • This is why you run.... yeaaaaaaaaaa.....

  • I remember seeing this when I was 5 years old atching Godzilla 1985 in the movie theater

  • Wow, I guess Marv Newland played a big part in the production, huh?

  • I saw this as a VERY young child, and cried for hours.

  • @douglifelsh

Me too! I still loved the g-man though, and always told my mom to fast forward past this part whenever she rented it for me

  • @ThornUvDaath777 Moron.

  • The first time I saw this was over 30 years ago, at the Strand Theatre in San Fran. I was kinda bored; we were all waiting for Rocky Horror to start when this strange looking cartoon came on the screen. Well, this got more laughs and hoots that night (and many more to follow) the the main midnight feature. That was a time I remember fondly; the Strand was 2nd home for so many of us, especially every Saturday night.

  • Saw it coming, sorry

  • @HeavyMetal69360 yeah me too...

  • my teacher played this when we had inside recess classic;D

  • BOOO!

  • so lame

  • owned!!!

  • LOL classic right here, poor Bambi he got owned big time.

  • хахахахахахаха

  • This vid is sooooo awesome!!!!!

  • Anyone realize this is 40 years old? This is before anyone knew what "ironic" meant, making it exceptionally hilarious for its time.

  • The last part is from The Beatles "A Day In The Life".

  • @jonmayo15 The Beatles were awesome, but they didn't actually invent that chord...

  • Hm. I was expecting some thing like that to happen. xD

  • I can't believe this won an award haha

  • whts the name of the music?

  • It's part of the overture to Rossini's opera "William Tell" (aka "Guillaume Tell" or "Guglielmo Tell"). The same overture (another part of it) gives us the the classic old "Lone Ranger" theme.

  • que ridiculo. umm...... ok then.........

  • credits are the best

  • That was really stupid, in a good way. Ioved it.

  • i saw this for the first time when i was in about second grade in about 1969. it was a saturday night during a commercial break for the andy williams show. i wish everyone could see this through the eyes that i first saw it through.

  • Makes me think of Monty Python.

  • Comment removed
