  • This seems to me like a pokedex entry.

  • real mudkip

  • looks like i just came inside a pokemon center :P

  • 1. dont put axolotl's on pebbles they will eat em and get congested, use sand!

    2. dont put bubble blowers with axolotl's that will make em stressed!

    3. the only hardship with these animals is to get them relaxed.

    4. Axolotl's can live up to 25 years! and can grow up to 40 cm's (if your aquarium is large enough)

    5. Axolotl's dont like light so try to have atleast 2 places where they can hide per axolotl.

    6. your aquarium needs to be big, for 1axo you need 60x40x40cm for 2 you need 80x40x40cm

  • @ilegalized by the way if thats all true my tank is about 40 cm and im getting 2 axolotls will they survive ?????? plz reply to me

  • @ilegalized Don't use sand either, they will eat anything smaller than their mouth, which includes sand. I suppose it would be better than gravel, but the best would be stone slate. Pieces large enough that they cant eat. And make sure the edges are not sharp. Also, a 10 gallon tank is recommended for 2 Axolotls.

  • i absolutely love this video, could watch it for hours :D

  • it's mudkips

  • It's the shrink from Animal Crossing!

  • They're so wierd looking! But cool at the same time :)

  • I just love how BRIGHT the golden albino is.

  • 1:35 he looks so happy!

  • Where can you get these? Are they expensive? Is it possible to get them in America? Do they live well alone? Can you get them in California? My friend really wants one! She asked me all these crazy questions! lol

  • No you cannot handle them... its VERY bad for their health and will stress them out

  • Nice vid, you only forgot to mention that they don't like light or fast running water. Also they should live on a sand base as they can swallow rocks easily and die from impaction.

  • can you handle a axoltl

  • i feed mine with crickets, grashoppers, bugs and worms and they love it^^

  • dont give them a 15 years life time sentence in prison. at least give them a big space

  • Oh man, I can't wait to get one of these little guys. I want to hand feed one xD

  • Mudkips are Mexican! Yay!

  • i like mudkips.

  • i have two axolotls and this intro taught me a lot XD

  • NO YOU IDIOTS....it's a wooper. Notice the gills? DUH

  • MUDKIP!!

  • Also, in England they sell at around £15 each at present.

  • Very useful guide, thanks! I'm getting my gold beastie next week, but have been learning about them for a few years now!

  • its a mudkip and the pokemon wooper

  • they have been becoming extinct lately so the price has gone up and they are alot more expencive now

  • I saw this thing in my biology text book about their gas exchange and I decided to youtube them haha very unique animal

  • can i hold them with big snails (2-3centimeters) in a 60 gallon (200liter) aquarium?

  • @Bamchikibam no they will eat them

  • what's with the really bad conditions these axolotls are being kept in?

  • Is there any way to tell their sex before they reach 1 year?

  • @syrenski usualy around 18 months they become sexually mature, but it's better to rely on size.

  • where do you get one of these i really really want 1

  • i want one D:

  • What does the message at 1:50 say? I can make out "Kids- Axolotls stay in the water. "

what does it say below that?

  • how do you breed them! i have one not sure if female or male but il go check right now.

  • @Cizza225 if its a boy it has a large bump behind the back of its rear legs. if its a girl it has nothing

  • @Jacornonthecob It doesn't have to LOOK like a mudskipper to be a MUDKIP.Think of this, every "Pokemon's" name sounds like what it was inspired from.MUDKIP=MUDsKIPPer.Next time if you go to a kid's bookstore, buy a Pokemon book and say that you're buying it for your nephew or son.Look up "Whooper" and you'll see resembleamce of an Axolotl.

  • so the lavel fase is before or after there salamanders or diff species

  • @Spidonkle You're very correct!

  • @minesweeper52 Mudkips are inspired by the animal,"Mudskipper." ;)

  • @TheHellbino To right! ;D

I do believe Wooper is actually based on the axolotl. Please correct me if I'm wrong. ^^

  • @TheHellbino

Nope, you're wrong. Mudkip and it's evolutions look nothing like a mudskipper. It's closer to the mudpuppy, which looks a good deal like an axolotl, so saying axolotl is more correct than saying a mudskipper.

  • someone please tell me if axolotls are legal in florid and where i can buy them as eggs.

  • ARE AXOTOLTS APHIBIANS?

  • around 30-40 dollars aus =)

  • Mudkip? Are you a retard? Mudkip looks nothing like an axolotl. Wooper is based on the axolotl

  • Axolotls looks like a Pokemon xD

  • @sam85fisher With the name, it sounds like one too.

  • @sam85fisher more like, its the other way around...

  • @sam85fisher Wooper IS based off this thing. :)

  • @sam85fisher si el pokemon que dices thu es wooper xD

  • @sam85fisher mudkip and its evolutions are axolotls

  • @sam85fisher yeah a mudkip

  • @sam85fisher mudkipp

  • oh wait its a wooper

  • @MrWiNkYtv woopers walk on two legs

  • @sam85fisher

It is true because it look's almost like Wooper or a Mudkip.

  • @sam85fisher Most likely the inspiration for Wooper

  • @sam85fisher Wooper is based of Axolotl's ^-^ if i get one i would SO call it wooper

  • @sam85fisher Specifically, Whooper.

  • @TheSpaceSwine uhhh... no, Mudkips

  • thanks heaps for posting this up! i've got a 7 and half year old wild axolotl! and i'm still very much in love with him! ^_^

  • got mine today 3 of them, very interesting creatures they are! thing is the shop had fresh stock in 2 days ago... i got the last 3! :) didnt realise they were that popular

  • i paid £18 for mine he's so cool i normally feed him live blood worm or maggots from my local tackle shop he loves them

  • Where can I get these?

  • The aquariums are A LOT too small ...

  • I want these mudkipz!

  • Lol they bite off each others legs...but they grow back HAHAHa

  • their usually 20-50 dollars

  • Wooper. :D

  • well i got a bag of rare candy...time to feed it

  • careful. i heard team rocket is looking for it...

  • SO I HEARD YOUR LIKE SOME THINGS...

  • I LIEK MUDKIPZ

  • You can´t put them with rainbowfish, because these fish need tempratures of 30 °C and an axolotl dies when the watertemprature is that high.

  • my axolotl cost $20 dollars, but add in the tank, filter, food and all that stuff, it cost me about $115 dollars

  • You have to mention that they are NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE to be kept on gravel. They will accidentally eat it and will die from impaction. If we regrew arms, I can tell you know, having it bitten off is gunna BLOODY HURT. They should be kept apart from others that are larger or smaller if possible. They do breed in tanks acually, but will eat their eggs =[

Everything else was right! good work =]

  • how much do these little guys usally cost?

  • @smileycheek07 around $20-$35

  • about 30$

  • @smileycheek07 mine cost around £15

  • @smileycheek07 they can rang form 10-75 dollars, 20-30 form a normal petshop

  • @smileycheek07 depends rly........

i got a baby leucistic a couple of days ago for like 9 pounds also depends on breeds etc but i wouldnt expect more thn 20 pound for one

  • @smileycheek07 $30 say one the other day in the aqurium i go to for $28 its was brown though i dont no if the price verious for different colors.

  • @smileycheek07 I saw one in the aquarium that i goto to by my fish it was on sale for $28, but i think it various between color the one i saw was brown

  • mine was twenty euro two years ago. cheap enough, and because they eat most bugs and in small amounts, feeding them is very cheap too. you do need a big tank tho, thats the expensive bit

  • @smileycheek07 The price is often about $20-$40.

  • @smileycheek07 around 65 euro

  • @smileycheek07 this one website you can buy them from their about 35 - 40 dollers

  • @smileycheek07

    The axolotl cost about $ 30 - $ 40 usually

  • @smileycheek07 it ranges from 30-100 bucks...

  • @smileycheek07 You ask for price before treatment... Go get a rope please.

  • Naa I'll stick with my Gold fish.. Lolz! XD

  • from what ive read the axolotl might eat your fish

  • Yeah do not put any kinds of fish with your Axolotls. They nibble on the Axolotl's little fuzzy things on the sides of their head. It'll kill them =(

Did you even watch this video? D:

  • BAAAD IDEA!!! in general Axolotls dont get along with other species, fish eat away at their gills and if the fish are small enough the Axolotl would eat it.

  • Erm no tropical temp. would kill them.

  • can a axolotl eat dog food? help!!

  • they're kinda cute. I read that they are in danger of extinction.

  • you could ask your local fish shop to order one in but first i would google the term axolotl and find a website called axolotl org in the search then read everything to know about them on there before attempting to keep one the website also shows you all the colours under the biology section

  • i feed my axolotle every day!

and they don't just eat worms but they eat a lot more!!!

    this info is not complete!

  • Depends on alot of things though mate, younger Axolotls need to be fed more often than older ones. And he did say they eat more than just worms.

But I still agree, some info is incomplete.

  • i'm a girl so not a mate;)

but you agreed with me so thas all i have 2 say:)

  • @latnahc Worms are the best staple dies for them, while they can eat other things worms provide complete nutrition. This info os not complete but they did get the worm bit right

  • where can i buy those awesome easter island figures for my tank DAMN!

  • i feed my axolotl 3 and a half meal worms every 2 days is that ok?

  • Mealworms have high levels of chitin which cannot be digested easily. Try other foods such as bloodworm and earthworms (Dendrobaenus sp.) as they are higher in protein. High quality Salmon pellets can also be used.

  • ez mate, where can I get one of those handy feeder tongs you have there?

  • Reading your question actually gave me the idea to use chop sticks for feeding them, thanks :D

    (Getting an axolotl today ^^)

  • How is your axolotl going?

  • It's fine, and growing pretty steadily!

I'm about to stop feeding it bloodworms, and just give earthworms instead. The aquarium just gets way too messy quickly with bloodworms, and giving him live earthworms also forces him to actually catch them, so he just doesn't sit on his lazy ass all day in there :p
