@mella206 That was a very nice widget for your taskbar, made by Google. It would glow different colors and with a click, it would expand into a search box that would help you search Google and your computer. That was 3 years ago; google has discontinued this product; so, no one can get it anymore.
The reason why I'd get Ultimate is because of its compatibility with NFS (a UNIX remote file sharing thing). But because I can easily make a Samba server on Linux, there's no other reason for Ultimate. I'll probably upgrade to Professional instead.
@Nazmus1992 Hey, a question, I have two versions, Home Premium and Ultimate both Windows 7, (legal versions) on discs I purchased from BestBuy. I am just worried if Ultimate takes up significantly more HDD space than Home Premium since I have a limited hard drive of 640GB and need every GB of it for other files.
@norge696 your lucky Microsoft isn't bothered much with illegal personal pc users, if you did that for business Microsoft would make you pay until your homeless(and that's after some jail time).
i have to say ultimate is not faster than home premium AT ALL. i have to say ultimate is basicly home premium with language packs. i want a fucking refund please.
Hay i am from the UK and i am a chef i work in the summer in the UK and in the winter i work in Austria. I am all so a writer cooking books that sort of thing some well know ones. So i use my computer for work but for the english and german speaking market so the being abel to change language wold be good for me plus my girl friend speaks german. Also i have had some good selling books and i think its a good piece of mind knowing that my work can not be aces. So is ultimate worth it for me
@ryso18 Microsoft provides language packs for Windows 7 as free download! You don't even need to have Ultimate for some languages. Some do require the ultimate edition. I will send you a PM about where to download additional language packs for Windows 7. Hope that helps!
@ThisComputerGuy If you don't do anything very technical with your computer that IT pros do, then yea, you wouldn't have gained anything by getting Ultimate. For a home user, Home Premium is perfect. :)
Not sure if you know about this, but Im running vista and can STILL get a virtual Windows XP. It's called VMWare Player. A virtual Machine within yours. So with that there, you do NOT need even Professional. Especially considering you can backup you files manually yourself.
ok so apart from a few features most people dont need there is no difference between the three versions? personally i dont need any business services or secure backup, if i need to back things up i put them on discs which are secure cuz theyre not connected to any network (duh). so my question is... why would anyone get ultimate?
@TechnicCreations It's not bullshit... The 1gb of ram isn't useable and your pc will tell you this if you know where to look but that 1gb of ram is all deticated for extra speed in windows 7 & it works, i got this effect when i switched from xp to windows 7
I think what you are thinking of is 32 and 64bit. If you try and run 3 or more gigs on a 32bit version of Windows, you will only be able to use 2.99gb.
I use windows 7 ultimate pirated edition which I bought for about 10$ and I install all windows updates by using advanced systemcare and I have turned off windows update and firewall in control panel!
i have home premium and it does everything and more than what i need and its awesome! ultimate really only has small things like bitlocker and diffrent languages
@Goldenfury12 NO SHIT there batter, do you now whats better about ultimate? it has remote over internet included... and more stupid shit you dont need
@5T34LTHcamoT4NK I do have windows 7 ultimate and yes it does have some stupid shit...but that doesn't matter. There not that much better than the other.Ultimate only comes with a few more things than home premium let alone pro.
@Goldenfury12 that would be home premium, professional is idiots who think home premium is worse, ultimate for rich paranoid guys or teens living with their parents (the bitlocker)
home premium is for smart people, well fuck it, home premium is for EVERYONE (unless you own a real business then you get enterprise) all those extra features are practically fucking useless, and as a gamer, the fuck do you do, besides games, and no windows feature is going to help with that
@Goldenfury12 that would be home premium, professional is idiots who think home premium is worse, ultimate for rich paranoid guys or teens living with their parents (the bitlocker)

@DaBurntToaster yeah but alot of gaming pc's have professional and ultimate. But i don't see much of a difference between each other when it comes to gaming.
@Goldenfury12 technically pro and ult will be worse for the average use because of all the extra fluff the system probably has to load up using up ram and processor power, but with somethin like an i5/ i5 or phenom II quad or higher, you wont have any problems, but for someone like me with an I3, i think it would probably make a difference
Its just 10 dollars more for 30+ languages and bitlocker. if you wanna spend 10 more go for ultimate. its not like your throwing 50 or even 100 dollars.
@Nazmus1992 hey you are wrong, i just updated to ultimate (i was on starter) and it does have a new feature and it is: being able to change the display language

@bestfighteriam1 nope... wont help. Ultimate is just made for some people that do really professional work, and for people who build PC's because youcan have much more RAM with Ultimate and much more...

You just saved me £20 worth of my money, i will buy the professional, just one queation... If i use windows anytime upgrade will i still be able to keep all my data, considering im on windows 7 home premium?
@PineappleTutorials Yes, if you use Windows Anytime Upgrade, you won't loose any data or any software. Upgrading using Windows Anytime Upgrade does not reinstall the OS, it just enables the all the Professional features in your Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Also, it only takes about 10 minutes to upgrade from Home to Professional. Hope this helps!
For the price of Windows 7 Professional at the Box Store, you can buy Ultimate on eBay. Brand new, too. Of course, you could get Professional on eBay for much less, too.
btw, Nazmus, I don't know if English is your first language but I admire your correct spelling and grammar. I noticed your accent and sometimes when I see videos with people that have unfamiliar accents, they tend to misspell in their descriptions or worse. So cheers, mate!
@LtSurge659 Thanks for the compliment! However, English is my first language. This was one my first videos, so I wasn't the best at speaking like this, even after countless tries. :)
@numstuck No. You don't have to install anything. Simply purchase the serial code using Window Anytime Upgrade. Then, in Windows Anytime Upgrade, type in the serial key, and click next. It will active the key, and in 10 minutes, you will be running Windows 7 Ultimate! Hope this helps!
Just a major WARNING: That list does NOT include everything. For anyone that needs direct access to windows administrative tools, like security policies, you only get that in Ultimate. Thus, $20 more for Ultimate may be worth it to advanced users. Otherwise I agree with this video.
I Say Professional Is The BEST VERSION Of 7. Plus, My Mom Was In College And Since She Had A edu Email Addresses, I Got Win7 Pro For My Computer, FOR ONLY $30 US DOLLARS!
Also if I have Home Premium and get 8GB of RAM for my computer will the 64-bit edition use the RAM to the fullest of it's capacity. Or does it have a limit of 6GB or something???
@DeathAfterLif3 No with a 64-bit Operating System, you can have up to about 16.3 billion gigabytes of RAM, or 16.3 exabytes of RAM. So don't worry about having too much RAM! A 32 Bit OS, however, can only handle 2 GB of RAM. Therefor, I recommend that you get a 64-bit Windows 7.
@Nazmus1992 64bit Windows cant support 16.3 billion GB of RAM you dumbass. Even in the year 3000 our PCs won't have 16.3 billion GB of RAM, maybe servers but no the shit that will be in houses. Different OSs have different limits in this case Windows 64 bit is limited to about 128GB of RAM. Also 32 bit Windows is limited to 4GB not 2GB.
@KhAN95240 I actually did my research thank you very much! I was speaking THEORETICALLY. By the definition of 64-bit architecture, it CAN support 16.3 billion GB of RAM. You are right that 64-bit windows can't achieve that much of RAM, but that's due to other limitations! You are right that 32-bit Windows CAN achieve 4 GB RAM, but by default, Windows Vista and 7 limits it to 2GB, and XP limits it to 3 GB. You can tweak it, but that's not the job of an average user.
@Nazmus1992 not tru you can have up to 4 gig per app you can have more than 4 gig of ram on 32 bit you need dig online for some dll file from windows server 2003 and copy thim to system 32 folder
@ToadtheWetSprocket Your point is valid. 32-bit OS can achieve 4 GB ram, but know that not all users are conformable with tweaking the system that way. Also, Windows 7 is a worthwhile upgrade because it is stable; what, then, would be the point if we tweak it and make it unstable, especially if we have an option to use a 64 bit of Windows at no additional cost that would run more efficiently on a 4GB RAM anyways.
@Nazmus1992 the point well game run better in xp 32 than windows 7 64 bit i found
as app or lock out of useing more than 4 gig so it block thim from over useing ram wich i found that fire fox will keep eating up ram so with a 4 gig lock game run better it the hole ustream stuff why i do not like it for gameing windows 7 fine but it bad if you stream youre games as fire fox and webcam max eat a lot of ram
@Nazmus1992 although I agree with you,I have seen some companies charge a miniscule amount more for a 64 bit os than a 32 bit one ,though it is only around 1£,1$ or 1 euro more
So if I want to play games etc, it doesn't really matter if I get Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate? Therefore its better to get Home Premium because of it's price.
I don't know what you mean by getting it free. Did you get it as a gift, win it as a prise, or been given Windows from Microsoft themselves. If you got it illegally, I cannot help you there. But, if both Ultimate and Home Premium are free, you should obviously choose Ultimate. If Home is free, and ultimate is not, you have to decide if you really need the enterprise features (only good for business) found in Ultimate. Hope this helps.
buy a OS???..... HAHAHAHA!

if u have windows 7 home premium do u have to format to update to ultimate?
numstuck 1 year ago
@numstuck No. You don't have to install anything. Simply purchase the serial code using Window Anytime Upgrade. Then, in Windows Anytime Upgrade, type in the serial key, and click next. It will active the key, and in 10 minutes, you will be running Windows 7 Ultimate! Hope this helps!

i got 7 ultimate 100% free
killyrm34300 1 year ago
Just a major WARNING: That list does NOT include everything. For anyone that needs direct access to windows administrative tools, like security policies, you only get that in Ultimate. Thus, $20 more for Ultimate may be worth it to advanced users. Otherwise I agree with this video.

Fearren 1 year ago

Also if I have Home Premium and get 8GB of RAM for my computer will the 64-bit edition use the RAM to the fullest of it's capacity. Or does it have a limit of 6GB or something???
DeathAfterLif3 1 year ago
@DeathAfterLif3 No with a 64-bit Operating System, you can have up to about 16.3 billion gigabytes of RAM, or 16.3 exabytes of RAM. So don't worry about having too much RAM! A 32 Bit OS, however, can only handle 2 GB of RAM. Therefor, I recommend that you get a 64-bit Windows 7.
Nazmus1992 1 year ago
@Nazmus1992 64bit Windows cant support 16.3 billion GB of RAM you dumbass. Even in the year 3000 our PCs won't have 16.3 billion GB of RAM, maybe servers but no the shit that will be in houses. Different OSs have different limits in this case Windows 64 bit is limited to about 128GB of RAM. Also 32 bit Windows is limited to 4GB not 2GB.
KhAN95240 1 year ago
@KhAN95240 I actually did my research thank you very much! I was speaking THEORETICALLY. By the definition of 64-bit architecture, it CAN support 16.3 billion GB of RAM. You are right that 64-bit windows can't achieve that much of RAM, but that's due to other limitations! You are right that 32-bit Windows CAN achieve 4 GB RAM, but by default, Windows Vista and 7 limits it to 2GB, and XP limits it to 3 GB. You can tweak it, but that's not the job of an average user.
Nazmus1992 1 year ago
@Nazmus1992 not tru you can have up to 4 gig per app you can have more than 4 gig of ram on 32 bit you need dig online for some dll file from windows server 2003 and copy thim to system 32 folder
ToadtheWetSprocket10 1 year ago
@ToadtheWetSprocket Your point is valid. 32-bit OS can achieve 4 GB ram, but know that not all users are conformable with tweaking the system that way. Also, Windows 7 is a worthwhile upgrade because it is stable; what, then, would be the point if we tweak it and make it unstable, especially if we have an option to use a 64 bit of Windows at no additional cost that would run more efficiently on a 4GB RAM anyways.
Nazmus1992 1 year ago
@Nazmus1992 the point well game run better in xp 32 than windows 7 64 bit i found
as app or lock out of useing more than 4 gig so it block thim from over useing ram wich i found that fire fox will keep eating up ram so with a 4 gig lock game run better it the hole ustream stuff why i do not like it for gameing windows 7 fine but it bad if you stream youre games as fire fox and webcam max eat a lot of ram
ToadtheWetSprocket10 1 year ago
@Nazmus1992 although I agree with you,I have seen some companies charge a miniscule amount more for a 64 bit os than a 32 bit one ,though it is only around 1£,1$ or 1 euro more
N00bizme 1 year ago
So if I want to play games etc, it doesn't really matter if I get Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate? Therefore its better to get Home Premium because of it's price.

It wouldn't stay up; so I had to hold it up.

so what if you get it for free should you change from home to ultimate ?? plz reply
993leo 2 years ago
I don't know what you mean by getting it free. Did you get it as a gift, win it as a prise, or been given Windows from Microsoft themselves. If you got it illegally, I cannot help you there. But, if both Ultimate and Home Premium are free, you should obviously choose Ultimate. If Home is free, and ultimate is not, you have to decide if you really need the enterprise features (only good for business) found in Ultimate. Hope this helps.
