I wouldn't say this is the single best performance on the show. The problem with this is not that she's flat, but that she's not very good at controlling her breathing. You can hear every breath that she takes in the microphone.

I think she is a breath of fresh air. I get tired of the bleached blonde pop tarts who are plastic and never show a facial expression. Jessica acts like a human. She puts genuine emotion into her music. Her eyes speak volumes. There is something about her, not just that she is pretty, that draws you in.

To go from singing mostly in church and a couple of local festivals to placing 6th (Jerry said she was ()this close to #5) in a national competition without any professional music training is a pretty damn good accomplishment, whether you like her or not. I think she is great.
