I had a ~YBR 125 loved every moment of rideing it i like just out side of the yorkshier dales UK and grat fun. however due to helf i had to stop rideing ofter only haveing my lince for 6 months. i have arthritues in my hips nees and lower spine and im only 20 but for any one thinking about getting one i would recoment

Brakes are slow to respond because its new, your right. also tires have wax on them so dont try a knee down first 200 miles of tires :P Perfect bike for city/town...i use mine for 20 mile 60mph roads, takes the piss cos its high revs. Useless on snow, i dropped a hire bike one i had about ten times cos tires are about an inch thick. Bike refuses to go into N, and says its in N when in first sometimes so it wont start with stand down...any way, mail me if you need help with the bike :)

@theeroom these bikes are only good for going around town i have got one myself and they are shocking if you like to push the bike, i tried banking mine and i could got down futher on my scooter and my scooter was faster plus the wheels and tyres on these are sh!t so tiny wish i didnt get mine at all
Yeah, the wheels are the skinniest on the road most of the time, but these are so quick and nimble around the town like you said that it more than makes up for the lack of power.
I find i can get a really good lean on on corners personally, although I am aware tthat tyre width and the side pegs are against me.
However, I have clocked 160MPG on a full tank so I think there are alot of positives in there with this bike.

Got a YBR 2007 In my garage got given by my brother when he bought his R6. Needs new Brake Pedal and Rear Tyre. What do you wear when you ride i only have a 50cc moped and i wear jeans and hoodie. do you think i need a Bike jacket with padding? Im a big guy so im not sure if ill get 70kmph on it.

@lolzords234 Hey, I paid £1600 brand new from the Yamaha dealer in South Woodford with tax, 3 years MOT, A free helmet and chain (he gave me £100 to spend in the shop), got to choose my own Plates too. Think that's everything.
My insurance is about £25 a month with Lexham insurance, they had the best deal. Also it comes with free RAC Breakdown cover if you buy it from the showroom,, It's called Yamacover or something. The dealer will know.
The Oxford chain is good. Mine is the one that doubles as a disc lock as well, so I normally put the chain round a post, then round the wheel and lock the disc lock onto one of the spokes, so even if they get the chain off, the lock is still on the wheel, so it won't turn...
Yeah I had a look at the YBR last sat, but they only do it silver, red and black now :/ Gonna go with back with phender bars on it as it's my first proper bike so I'm porbably gonna fall off sometime :S
i have a 2010 model aswell and dont worry about the plastic on the exhaust it will be fine ........also i dont know if you have run this bike in yet but it will go 70mph on flat no problem :)

I used to get regular 95 unleaded, but now I get the premium cause the price difference isn't much with the rise in TAX and fuel prices

The bike often is a pain to get into neutral and I really have to push hard up or down to get it to go in!
I'm not sure why.
Sometimes though its so smooth I dont even feel it go!

@lolzords234 Hey, I paid £1600 brand new from the Yamaha dealer in South Woodford with tax, 3 years MOT, A free helmet and chain (he gave me £100 to spend in the shop), got to choose my own Plates too. Think that's everything.
My insurance is about £25 a month with Lexham insurance, they had the best deal. Also it comes with free RAC Breakdown cover if you buy it from the showroom,, It's called Yamacover or something. The dealer will know.

The Oxford chain is good. Mine is the one that doubles as a disc lock as well, so I normally put the chain round a post, then round the wheel and lock the disc lock onto one of the spokes, so even if they get the chain off, the lock is still on the wheel, so it won't turn...

Yeah I had a look at the YBR last sat, but they only do it silver, red and black now :/ Gonna go with back with phender bars on it as it's my first proper bike so I'm porbably gonna fall off sometime :S

i have a 2010 model aswell and dont worry about the plastic on the exhaust it will be fine ........also i dont know if you have run this bike in yet but it will go 70mph on flat no problem :)

I'd agree on 70Mph on a flat road (maybe slightly running downwards.
ALOT OF WIND THOUGH!
I have got a top top speed of 75 out of this bike though....
0-50 in about 8 seconds (maybe less)

Nice learner bike!! It will be reliable. I prefer the Honda CBF125 for similar price though

Great review I have yamaha ybr 125cc great bike to learn on, only problem I find is you need to get it up to 5000 rpm before leting cluch out,
