Its great what yur doing! Letting everyone know about snakes in their area! In fact if i find a snake I'll go straight to Herping with Dylan to make sure its not poisonous!
Good stuff man and awesome camera! Do you have any reptiles at home or do you justr herp?I love herping, sucks theres snow and its 0 degrees here now so have to wait till spring lol Great vid man
I caught two black racers that appeared to be mating when I was living in S.Carolina. I took one home and released it later since it was very distressed and would not eat, unlike the Yellow Ratsnakes that seem to relax after awhile. I threw a recently caught Y. Ratsnake into an aquarium and he ate a bird that day. Some snakes adapt to captivity right away. All of the colubrids that constrict their prey seem to be the best pets. I will never keep a wild-caught snake again though. Let them go...
@ImmortaISun Glad you appreciate it. I still feel that the picture quality is sub-par for what the 7D CAN do. There are some amazing examples on Vimeo of what the 7D is capable of.
@foolecoole Its funny you said that because my cousin lives in the city, a poor area of the city at that and we found tons of Racers in the little grass lots and Under old tires that people dumped in the weeds. It was the Last place you would ever think of finding snakes but I found more Racers there than In my area in the Suburbs lol.
i found a black rat snake that was stuck in the grass netting for new seeded grass/sod and its skin/scales grew arround the plastic netting and i had to get scisors to cur it free but i couldnt get all of the plastic out of the snake because it was in there so long. i hate these man made products made of plastic that kill lots of animals and im happy to see that somebody is helping these animals out! thanks
happy your back. you were right about water snakes, they were the meanest. i ,v had morre bites though from black snakes then anyother.in the 50,s i had a 15x15 foot cage and we,d keep snakes for a few eeks, anyway if i didn,t watch out for the black snake, he,d bag me all the time. good to see you back, rocky
@Reebbo Theres nothing around here. The most we have found was a couple ring neck snakes, small species of salamanders, different breeds of turtles, and one northern water snake. But its the same thing every single time and we do herp just around our neighborhood.
Very awesome. That was one battlescarred mommy. Eggs can only mean one thing: More to find next year. And for me it can't come quick enough... Place looks familiar maybe???
@Reebbo Dang... I could've sworn I saw that one bug at 1:53 before. Of course I suppose it could've been a bug from another area, that was... From... Another area.
Beautifle species of snake, shame this one has been hurt so bad
