I went to a Jays game a few years ago & not being from Toronto, I was caught way off guard when they did this song at the 7th inning. My brother and I were thinkin' what the heck?! But apparently, it's tradition. I can't understand the song. What are they saying besides "Let's Play Ball." It's totally corny...but catchy.
If you run a search on Google,there is a site which has the lyrics of the song-which has been around for over 2 decades. It kinda celebrates the game and the whole baseball experience,but the lyrics could use some updating.
Also, the song is incomplete, or at least it used to include the following lyrics at the beginning (I haven't yet been to a Blue Jays game this season):

You've got a hat and a bat
And that's not all
I'm only 19, so I don't remember going to any Blue Jays game at Exhibition Stadium, but I've heard that the lyrics used to have something about seagulls. Does anyone remember?
At one game I went to where we played the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (I remember they scored eight runs before we came up to bat and that we had scored another six before the seventh inning stretch, but I can't find it on Baseball Reference), I changed the lyrics to "OK, Devil Rays, let's play golf!"
That song is actually played right after "OK Blue Jays"! If you'll notice, the video cuts out right as streams of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" is beginning to play, and the PA announcer is announcing it!
I've got a GREAT idea! How about this. We give Yankees fans THEIR biggest wish. And give the rest of the baseball world THEIR greatest wish. We move one team from the NL over to the AL, And just put the Yankees in their OOOOOWN LEAGUE! Allllllll by themselves! Noooooobody to play with, nooooo peasants to soil their royal hands on.
it's funny how the same thing happens every year, the yankees start slow and then once again win the division. i understand how you are happy that they are at the bottom at this time as it won't be for long. have fun watching the yankees play in october. peace

But it's nice to think SOMEONE (ANYONE) else might have a chance to take the division. So yes. Have fun watching the Yankees make the playoffs, but then choke. *shrug*
