Appearantly the Pagans have been buissy but modern people can't help it that so many common concepts have such an origin, what can you do, just go on with it because they are almost never used for that purpous. This is amazing proofe of how far people will go to nitpick and how little the human mind is abe to mitigate contexts, even if it turned out that plants were alive and they probably are that still doesn't mean death entered at least not in that way.
Even though it should not be worshiped, it is not that foolish to worship the Sun considering the Sun is far more than 1.3 million times the size of the Earth. With it's maybe 400 or so Yattowatts of power, it contains almost 99.9 percent of all the mass in the Solar System. It's also because early human culture was largly tribal so they naturally worshiped the most shiny, regular and powerful object beyond themselves they obsurved.
Ironicly when standing on a beach just after a sunset on a stary night not only are those stars suns; with or without planets, just like the one that just set but there are more suns out there than the grains of sand under one's feet and all the grains of sand on all the beaches of the world. Wether they are Earthlike with sandy beaches or not there are also many times more planets in the known universe than all those stars. Think about it.
