If what they did wasn't "valuable" to many people, they wouldn't be so well-paid. Even if I don't agree with all that the fashion world "offers" us, it is mean to denegrate all the women who model for us. When I make clothes I want them to be modeled well, and for people to feel beautiful when they wear them. There is definitely a place for well-made clothes and beautiful people wearing them. Why? because retail stores need to place the orders in order to get the clothing in time to sell before the season arrives. Fall shows are for spring clothing-orders arrive just after christmas to hit the shelves BEFORE spring arrives. Swimwear (summer clothing) shows are in January-middle of the winter-because we need to place the orders to have the goods in springtime...wait until summer to order and there is nothing left available, and buyers have already bought their swimsuits for the year.

I am a "thick" girl and I LOVE fashion..I attend shows about 3 times a month and I am comfortable enough in my own skin to look at runway models and say, "She looks gorgeous". When someone is unable to accept themselves for what they are and what they look like, THAT is when an eating disorder comes into play. Don't blame the fashion world, what would we do without it?
