  • Wow, she's beautiful.

  • Metric is just what everyone needs after this year's autotunned crap, the only reason you don't see them on mtv is because this music doesn't have someone singing about sex or guitarists that jump around the place. Its bands like metric that are still making great music.

  • @mummeb0y Hate to disappoint but a lot of Metric's songs are about sex, or sexual topics.

  • i wish im emily's dad..and im so proud of her..hehehee..

  • I met the band a short time. I really liked the sound.

  • @414rocker

Well sorta.... the drummer and basssist are americans, but Emily and Jimmy are from Toronto.

  • lol I love the bird at the end of the song at 3:25 it goes to show you how great this song really is!

  • @AcousticLvr22 yeah yeah, even the bird is cheering for'em!

  • I don't know why, but she looks like Paris Hilton in this video. Anyway, the song is amazing, according to me, the background has a special power

  • dammit Emily Haines! stop distracting me

  • honestly can metric release these as some acoustic songs, because i want to download this stuff so bad but i dont like the originals nearly as much

  • these two need to release an acoustic album!

  • Love the birds chirping in the background...

  • Esta presentación es encantadora, hoy más que antes amé a Metric....."You're gonna make mistakes you're young" es una frase en extremo significativa.

  • good music; people say that their aint no good music any more but thats not true. people give up on music because there are ass holes in and who take over the music industry who care only about making money and perverting the masses with garbage and ccomericialized garbage (its like a nuclear bomb only with music) and that is why we should never ever give up on younger generations music and look for the good and not focus only on the fiflth, rot and american idle garbage.

  • Hadn't heard the acoustic version of this, it's great : )

  • she's beautiful

  • I want to make love with her voice

  • I <3 Emily Haines

  • I have been returning to this video for years now cause I love listening to it so much. Its just great.

  • I LOVE SKiNNY GIRLS WITH A SMALL FRAME. This girl is definetly my type. she's hot and the tallent doesn't hurt. go look at the sounds she's hot too

  • i keep going back to this video.

    absolutely magical.

  • Notice how the lyric changed over the years from "here comes the sun" to "she's come undone"

  • @stallisman no I think youve got it backwards, wasnt this a preview? and "...Here Comes the Sun." makes much more since in context ... who listens to The Guess Who anyways?

  • @stallisman other way around, this is before they had decided on the final lyrics, and I kinda like it better this way, would be cool to see this version in concert :)

  • beautiful. this band gives me hope.

  • i usually don't really like female vocals, but this is awesome!! I really like her voice

  • why are they on a golf course?

  • This is perfect.

  • i love how they connect with eachother...constantly looking at back and forth...just makes the song even more beautiful :)

  • Metric NEEDS to release an acoustic version of Fantasies in its entirety. I saw them at a free show in Albany NY where they played 6 songs off it on acoustic/piano. The new album didn't grab me until I had heard the songs in acoustic form. Emily's voice shines through best like this when its not all overproduced. The nuances in her beautiful voice need to be heard, not masked with all the studio processing and behind millions of synthesizers.

  • skeleton in the sun

  • if you like that, check this :

    youtube.com/watch?v=wNyfY28l-hA

  • I love this... it has a very REAL quality to it... something that most music is lacking nowadays... here is music in its raw un-adulterated form and its beautiful just the way it is.

  • ★★★★★

  • 0:51 - it's so funny, because Emily forgot about second: "We're so close to something better left unknown" and Jimmy had to change chords quickly. He seems to be suprised :)

  • I like this version better than the one on the record.

  • Even tho I'm not a real fan of metric (just a couple songs) I will agree that their music is different than all the others that are played way too much on the radio, and I can definitely respect them for it.

  • WONDERFUL. they are so good

  • Shes changed its from "Shes come undone" to "Here comes the sun" Where is "Shes come undone" come from?

  • @MJCastellanos...

its a song by The Guess Who...one of their more famous ones. I assume Emily changed it to "here comes the sun" to connect to the line with beatles. However, The Guess Who are Canadian (as is metric), so maybe thats why it was the original lyrics? pretty interesting though...

  • This is so much better than the album version....if only for the birds singing along

  • i LOVE the birds in the background:)

  • They are the freshest thing since fresh was invented. Best capable vintage throwing trans-dimensional overtime cafe.

    Best band ever.

  • This is great, lover her voice! A quick song on the first tee before heading out for a round of golf? ;-)

  • She's Come Undone is referencing a Guess Who song. Too bad they didn't keep those lyrics, but I imagine it was a decision to make the lyrics more accessible to the public. Referencing a Beatles song as opposed to the Guess Who song Undun.

  • Amazing live. Amazing when not live.

I love Metric, and Emily by herself<3

She is such an insperation to me.

  • true, but it's a problem with women singing for acoustic...they lose their power. I like Metric's music, but someone like Janis, or Napolitano, or Amy Lee can really belt out the vocals.

  • better yet, check out VV Browne on Black Cab sessions...incredible power. Kudos to those who try, admiration to those who can :)

  • they still sound good without the intense energy though. idk what you're talking about.

  • well her whispy voice is one of the things that make this band unique! try listening to the original song it probly wont sound as whispy to you

  • @ZombiesUnderrMybed yes your right and i never knew i was listening to her on Broken Social Scene songs.

  • @MrZol Some Broken Social Scene songs also featuring Feist too.

  • brilliant. Emily Haines is beautiful.

    Beatles :)

  • @liltwistedangel69 The lyrics were originally she's come undone and also you failed to notice that she also changed the lyric from "gotta make mistakes your young" to "gonna make mistakes"... she changed it for the Album. The original version of this song sounds totally different look up metric "The Hooks".

  • loser:

they played many of their new songs at their shows over 2 years as a try out before releasing their album. They changed their lyrics and melodies a lot until the finished product was released. If you were a real fan you would know this. So stfu in the meantime. thanks.

  • I have their newest album "Fantasies" and the lyrics are "Come on baby, play me something like 'Here Comes the Sun'." If YOU were a real fan and actually HAD the album (which includes lyrics to every song), YOU would know. However, bands have poetic license to change the lyrics however they wish when performing. That being said, the published lyrics are "like Here Comes the Sun"(a Beatles' song). Also, Emily JUST referenced them in asking who you would rather be - them or the Rolling Stones. . .

  • I know this because I'm friends with Jimmy. No need to try and bash my comment. I'm just stating the facts. These were the original lyrics back in 2008. I was there. They played around with the lyrics a lot they even changed the name and not only to this song song.

  • latinavip, you're basically saying "only real fans would know that they changed the lyrics and melodies a lot until the finished product was released".

Music is there for everyone to enjoy, not just the fans who NEED to know everything about a band they want to follow. The fact that liltwistedangel69 (and I don't agree with her statement - she/he should have researched it) even knew Emily's name shows that she/he is SOMEWHAT of a fan. Dont tell fellow music lovers to stfu. You kill the fan base

  • @latinavip you're so right. Even anyone that watched "The Rawside of... Metric" would know that.

  • you do know there are diferent versions of this song right?

  • whats plain stupid i didnt get it?

  • ahh ok... even though i dont think it is( i rly like it) i respect your opinion friend :)

    Stay well

  • TORONTO TALENT <3 her

  • which guitar type is it?! i need an answer plsss

  • I'm not sure of the model/number but it's referred to as a "Jumbo" style body shape...that one has maple back & sides. If you google Gibson and go to their website, you should be able to search their Jumbo models and find it...but get ready for a high price tag!! Like 2-3K!!Epiphone makes one very similar for around $400 and sells in Sam Ash music stores or online

  • looks like a gibson j-200

  • acoustic

  • perfect!

  • great voice

  • I definetely think the ´here comes the sun´ reference is a great moment in the song.. i think the fact she changed it here let´s us see how important it actually is for her cus this is b4 they released the album.

  • i <3 u

  • Beautiful! pure talent1 her voice is amazing!

  • i like this acoustic version better.

  • wow this is beautiful

  • this version's magic... their look, their sounds, the background and the signing of the birds

this band gimme reason to looooove music

  • Different lyrics than the normal version, still awesome though.

  • I thought it was

"C'mon play me something like, here comes the sun"

which would make more sense since the song talks about the beetles and the stones.

  • i like this one way more than the album version

  • metric is awesome

  • beautiful acoustic version :D

i prefer the original more tho

  • Geez, and I just noticed how cute the guitarist is. :)

  • Great song, i love the birds in the background at points <3 :) haha i love you Emily haines

    p.s for anyone wonder the tuning is E A D A C# E

  • Mike Shinoda is a big fan of this metric band... i feel soooo bad i couldn't watch them in my own country.

  • Rolling stones definately...thats just my opinion

  • Well written lyrics, flow, nicely, although cliche phrases keep popping up, i feel like ive heard it before. Maybe because its acoustic, who knows.

  • gawhh her voice sounds soo awsome!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • does anyone besides me think they would make a cute couple?

  • i think she and i would make a cute couple.....

    :p

  • lolololololololololololol i wish as well!

  • yess ^^ so so cute :)

  • Awesome version of gimme sympathy. Wish the guitarist could pick up the harmonies, but still very cool!

  • amazing emily. ur voice is magic

  • If anyone has this exact tab, please message me. Awesome song.

  • not hard.

    beginning is palm muted A5, E5, F#5, B5

than the rest of the chords all have their roots on the 2nd string so...

0:47 D major chord with the root beginning on the second string, and E major chord with root on second string

again, chords have root note on 2nd string:

chorus is F#m with a tiny bit of finger work, D major, A major, C#m

end of chorus 1:18 chords are D major and A major

i just heard this on the radio and came and figured it out i didnt do the rest but shud be similar

  • just use your ears its a lot more fun figuring out something yourself than relying on tab and sooner or later transcribing by ear will be the only way for you to get better

good luck and have fun! i do agree its a good song

  • honestly, it's an easy enough progression, if you rely on tabs you'll really limit yourself... play with the song, you'll learn more...

  • although it did help to know that it;s not standard tuning

  • agreed, this song is pretty easy, you shouldnt need tabs.

  • fuc kall you guys

  • I love indie :D

  • All of you sheeple's comments are laughable.

  • Simply beautiful.I must have her ican't live without her anymore!I Love You

  • My favorite new band...

  • Anyone have a tab for this?

  • what does that even mean?

  • great video one of my favorat songs

  • is that you?

  • beautiful Voice. great job.

  • like she's come undone ?

    like here comes the sun?

they changed their lyrics before recording it hehe

  • Yeah, i prefer the hat tipping to the Canadian band (The Guess Who), with the lyrics "like she's come undone" :)

The beatles reference is still pretty rad though... i bet she would be a fun chick to hang out with.

  • beautiful (:

    i love it, 5 stars.

  • her voice...like a "murderer running their fingers down your back". i love it.

  • some people say that her voice is bad when she sing acosticly but is it jst me but that kinda rhaspy voice turns me on :D

  • search Allison Weiss, she has an incredible voice, it's similar to Emily Haines' but slightly more high pitched, her voice honestly gives me goosebumps <3

  • me too. i totally agree with you man.

  • That was amazing! Thanks

  • Wow this is so cool done on acoustic. It says her voice sounds good as is-

  • hey can somebody figure the tab for this and tell me about it?!

    itd be much appreciated

  • personally, i'd rather be the beatles :)

  • What the heck is a Coachella Pad?

  • coachella is only one of the best music festivals around. google that. welcome to the 21st century lol

  • I think its just a place at Coachella that Spin magazine has for various acts to come and lay down a song acoustically.

  • My favorite version of the song.

What's the chords to this acoustic version?

  • "My favorite version of the song."

    i agree :)

  • I am not really into that who has better rock bands shit. US, Britian, and Canada all have had a huge influence on the world. But there is so much more out there. Have you guys heard of Franciscomeza11 here on YouTube. From South America, now living in Canada? I just lve how YouTube is making the music of the world available to me right here in good ol North Carolina!

  • Nice Guess Who reference instead of Beatles

    Fuck yeah Canadian rock!

  • its amazing, ella canta muy chido

  • Guuuuauuuuuuuuu!!!

  • i love emily hanes she is so amazing

  • great song! I think I'm gonna play this song afterward

  • her voice is soo soothing

  • i love this woman

  • AMAZING!

  • glad she shaved her pits too.

  • I would marry her and I'm a girl.

  • too bad shes married to a guy

  • ahh shit really? :(

  • great great great....

    unbelievable ...

  • they are eye f*kin the sh*t out of eachother lol

  • the sun glasses are so their heads don't explode from it.

  • god i would marry emily haines in a milli second you think im joking im not she is amazing. i would feel bad getting in a relationship with anyone else because i would leave them instantly for her lol. thats how fucking amazing this girl is.

  • Glad she changed the line to 'Here Comes The Sun." I hope this cd finally breaks Metric big in the USA and elsewhere, they richly deserve it.

  • i dunno mainstream america doesnt really seem to be into talent

  • LOL! I don't think they know what talent is...

  • haha nice one!

  • I still remenber seeing this for the first time in June thinking how this will be their standout song. Guess I was right.

    Amazing song.

  • I love the birds singing in the background.

  • Cool song; does sound young, for a moment I feel young before I go back to feeling old. That's actually worth a lot.

  • LOVE this song. LOVE it. Her voice is perfect for it, and I like their style, too. They remind me of everything that was best about being young. On a scale of 1 to 10 on the cool factor meter, I'd give them a 15.

  • YES this made the new album too!!!!!!

  • I like it! I'll let our media company (AMP Entertainment) know about it Good luck with your journey.

  • I love this song. (:

    It's so pretty acoustic-ly

  • ok can anyone determine what tuning he used for his guitar. I I know he messed with the 1st string, i thought he tuned it to D but I might be wrong. I desperately want to cover this accurately but the tuning is screwing with me.
