Meh didn't like the song, but who cares, its your own personal taste. It really demonstrated this incredible piece of technology. Actually, it seems pretty seizure inducing, haha.
Retro terrific! Too bad I didn't buy it from you. "RF out" only really sucks, of course, but there are adaptors ;-) Forget the YouTube "haters" about the song - this thing was built to use with ANY style of music, and that's what you are doing with it.
song is "the wyrd sisters - everything and more" i believe. definitely violated the cardinal rule of video uploading by not telling people what the song is in your description
@Ponimaju: So whose rule is that? Yours? Never heard of it. The song I chose for the demo is not important. Although a number of folks have commented that they really like it. If you scroll thru the comments you will find that I did identify the song in response to a request.
I apologize for not consulting you before posting. I have made a terrible mistake. In the future I will make sure I clear my song selection with you. I do hope you will forgive me!
I don't care for the song much. I'm not going to insult it or anything, it's just not my type of music, and not the type of music I associate with this device. You should have played some Devo, they actually used an Atari Video Music in one of their music videos. I can't even look at one of these things without automatically thinking Devo.
Does the Atari Video Music output the sound or is it video only? I have one and when I hook it to my TV I get visuals just fine, but just static sound. Does the sound have to come from the source?
I want to thank you because you are the only user who put on youtube a clear demonstration of the Atari Video Music without a voiceless ultra low fi 8 bit piece of music, but with a warm and voiceful song.
Maybe it is just a coincidence, but the video output seems to respond with more "warmth" and more "color" than usual
Thank you for the lovely insight. This song is one of my favorites. It sounds great and has a message as well. "I will take the road less traveled. I will turn my life around". I am an audio engineer so quality counts with me. I have had this video up for about a year and have gotten the usual wild variety of responses, but yours was such a delight. Thank you. And BTW- It is still for sale. Make me an offer
I almost agreed with you at first (though I would probably choose a more tactful way to say it if I were to say anything about it at all) but the song actually grew on me and although it wouldn't have been my first choice it's kind of refreshing to see a video for something like this that isn't 8 bit or synth music, though I have nothing against those types of music at all.
@ThrilloVanHouten How about "One of These Days"?... I've copied an "automatic" demo-version of it to DVD, and have yet to download it here. Whadaya wanna bet it'll make one of the Top-10 vids here after I do?
@porcorosso81 Interesting, do you have a link so that I can get more info? I'm curious as to how Atari created this, seeing as how it has very 2600-ish graphics.
Does anybody know how to get composite video out of that box? I'd like to use one in my karaoke setup, but all of my stuff runs composite video instead of RF.
This is a very sophisticated analog computer. It has numerous VCOs, VCAs, dividers, filters and modulators inside. It was the only way of doing this back in 1975.
this was totally unknown to me (console or how do you call it? never seen one in europe), veeeery nice (also the song fits well),
thx for loading

For those interested, Devo used one of these in the video for "The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprise" (circa 1979).

I'll bet this thing was absolutely a trip in 1976. Having grown up in the 70's I'm trying to imagine back to that perspective.

Thanks for a great demo. The song is excellent.

Thanks for the awesome demo! If only Atari would re-release it. None available on Ebay now. Well I'll have to keep an eye out for it in the future.

What a really cool, old-school piece of electronics. What a really dull, lame-ass turd of a song.

Whoa, the high-quality and framerate of this video really makes the Video Music shine...it's so purdy.
Wish I could watch this with Dark Side of the Moon playing....

Not really, there is mainly one higher integrated Atari custom chip in this unit.
