Cuando laboraba en la selva escuche por primera vez esta cancion y esta musica me hacia soñar con la mujer de mis sueños q hasta hoy no la tengo jajajaja o no la encuentro...apago el pc
Even though I don't consider Mark Knopfler that best of all time, if I was given a wish to be able to suddenly play the quitar like anyone that ever played one, I would chose him!
This is one of the best guitarist in the world,Mark Knopfler.I love the soun of his guitar ...he is the best all time.we love you Mark go for it,music will never die...music is the food of love...
A slightly nervous (?) Mark with newly combed hair!
This tune is one of those special tunes that made me want to play the geeetar - after hearing it for the first time on my older brother's car stereo! Did I wear those first Dire Straits albums out....
I saw them in Feb of 79 at the "Paradise Club" in Boston WCOZ hosted them . The place holds about 100 people if that I was five feet from Mark and they played that entore first LP.. Great Show.... Sultan's of Swing !
I love the way Mark plays... he improvise, he do mistakes, but man... their feeling... it what playing live is all about... if I go to a concert, I want to hear the guys playing... if the song is equal on the studio, is worth being home listening the records... Dire Straits, amazing band, lots of inspiration!
@avidbookreader lol that is a pretty random thought i must admit and yes mark's hair cut was awesome, shame he's nearly bald now and i miss his head band
I must have heard this song more than a hundred times in the late 1970's when I was a teenager and never once did it do a thing for me. All of its brilliance was utterly lost on me. I think it was because my sister liked Dire Straits. She just wasn't cool you see. But I WAS cool...so cool that my stubbornness deprived me of some of the greatest music of my lifetime.
29th January 1978, Leicester Polytechnic, Dire Straits supported Climax Blues Band. I was helping the bands set up in the afternoon when these Geordies sound checked with "Sultans of Swing" and "Down by the waterline". I'd never heard of them, and still remember turning to Roger Ringwood (social sec) and suggesting they definitely had something! Awesome gig, and seeing this brings it all back. Was anyone else at that show all those years ago? . Bless all who appreciate true musical quality

Ive always wondered if this was inspired by the Corner House in Heaton- you could find a band just like the one in the song there most sundays and tuesdays
