Bullfighting in a primitive way is older, yes, but the modern form, as it is now, is a fairly recent development. Look up the history of Spanish bullfighting.
This modern form started in the 19th century. thats when the portuguese bullfight changed radicaly from the spanish. The matador desapered as well as killing the bull in the arena and the worseman became much more important than in spain.

It's ilegal to kill Bulls or anyother animals on Portuguese arenas. So tell me how is it "Portuguese Bullfighting" diferent in terms of animal cruelty than "British race horses" for instance,, or do u really think the horses do what the jockeys want them to do without torture training??

i personally don't think a person has the right to consume any animal product (food, leather shoes, purse, belt, coat)if they do not have the skill set, ability, willingness, and spirituality to take the life they consume. even the 'death' of an apple has a prayer, gratitude for consuming this apple that i hold in the palm of my hand, an orchard of trees (seeds and seed-food) that i hold in the palm of my hand. cherishing life means owning death.
