  • The old school will always be a special place with who went there The character it had the old cafeteria and all the school dances, the drafty windows and freezing and roasting in the summer. I wanna see the new school last as long as the old one did Class of 02

  • Thanks for sharing these photos, so sad to see it go.

    1978 Grad.

  • My Dad Went There But know i am going to the newer one

  • The old school was so special, it will be missed by all and this was a video that was so sad to watch.

  • class of 11 i spent my freshman year there =,[

  • its actually pretty sad to see this haha. i graduate this year and spent my whole freshman year in the old school and i do miss it. soo many fun places. even at the end of its run, there were sooo many places and rooms i never got to go in. i went into the phone room though. that was cool. definitely miss it. the new school doesnt compare.

  • that place wasnt that bad..except the old gym smelled like shit, ass, balls. all the time i might add. hell i still remember my freshman year. good times, good times. CLASS OF 10' !!!!!!

  • i'm a class of 90 graduate. however "bad" school seemed while we were there, it really was the best times of many of our lives. so many laughs,friends,1'st times of ????. watching the video, and seeing the demo really touched me.

  • Thanks for the pictures. You should try and post some of the new school as well.I went the through 1968 and have a lot of memories of my time there, both good and bad. But all of them will be with me forever. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the pictures. Y

  • we all miss that old school it was special

  • I WILL ALWAYS MISS THIS OLD SCHOOL IT WAS HALFof MY LIFE I WORKED THERE FOR 28YEARS

  • Okay, my sister will graduate in '11. I graduated in '99. I understand you guys don't have any super cool places like the dungeon to smoke weed and cigarettes. That sucks and everything, but at least you have a/c in the summer. We had to suffer through four Mays and four Septembers with windows that only opened about three inches. Straightening iron's (which, btw were metal and not ceramic in my day) only get you so far when it is ninety degrees in the classroom.

  • ya i also graduate in 2011. i would like to have been in the old skool for just a little bit longer bcuz there were so many places that i wanted to explore like the basment. now the only thing from the old skool left is field house.

  • I Miss Ambridge High School. It will always be in my heart.

  • now im saddd i dont graduate until 13 so its ok but still ;(

  • I also graduate in 11. That school was the greatest ever!. im gonna miss it so much. So many great memories

  • i go to the new high school

    jake

  • Good times and great memories Ambridge! Its kinda sad to see it all gone. Can't set foot in the old band room anymore...

  • that was such a great school. even tho it was crappy. it was just... amazing *tear* lol. the new school will never b consider our school... peh

  • i'm deff gonna miss the old school. though i was there a year and a half, it was a good school and you got use to all the things most people would consider weird and gross and not healthy... it was just part of your everyday life and most people wouldnt have it any other way. I know i wouldnt.

  • I only graduate in '11 & I was only able to spend 4 months in that school. It was the best 4 months a person could have in school. Especially in band. I'm gonna miss that school.

  • Very sad to see, but glad someone took the time to document the history for us...class of '79 -- Thank you! Nice job putting it together.

  • it was great but very sad to see it come down i grauduated in 1984 and havent been back since... but i hear the new school is very nice... cyndi

  • I Worked Here for 28 Years It was A Tradegy To See This Torn Down

  • i know i graduated in 1984 and havent been to the school since i live in florida.. it's so sad... cyndi

  • Thanks for this video. Even though I was only in the old school for a year and a half, it's still very sad to see it go.

  • thanks for sharing that, 3 generations of my family graduated from that school and I hoped that my son would carry that on (he's 19 months) so sad.

  • woohoo! I actually got to witness some of the destruction first hand on my last visit back there. (Sadly, they wouldn't let me borrow a sledgehammer...) Anyway, I still don't see why they had to replace the high school. What a waste of taxpayer money! That school was in MUCH better shape than any school I have seen here in California. PA should be glad they have money to spend on education and spend it WISELY!

-some freak from the class of 91

  • Wow. 1991. The school probably looked better then than it did before it was torn down. We needed a new school. The only school was falling apart. The lockers were small, ceiling tiles were falling down...walls in the instrument room were falling apart. That school was in worse shape than Highland Elementary was before it was torn down. And if our school board wasn't made of a bunch of dumb asses it wouldn't have cost as much as it did to build the new school. Enough Said.

  • I didn't go to Ambridge, but have lived here for 8 years, and worked in the old school for 3 years and have lived a block away for 6. thank you for sharing this tribute, while I do believe it was time for it to go...that doesn't make it easier seeing it fall (or hearing it - they are working today on it!) THANKS!

  • I cried when I say this. A part of Ambridge History Gone and a Part of alot of our lives gone as well. I will Miss My Old School and All the Memories there when I would go home to visit I would drive by just to see it.

  • This brought tears to my eyes.I graduated in 1970,from Ambridge, and have many fond memories. The tearing down, the ending,of my Alma Mater, only brought to mind the end of many good friendships that were promised to always keep in touch. The song was so touching and so apropos.I wish I could go back if only for a moment to hug those that meant the most to me and to thank them for all that was good and to bid them farewell and good luck, over again.I hoped that my pals will indeed R.M.A. as I do them.

  • Nice Video

  • why did they tear it down? probably was a superfund site...

  • no, actually. they took it down because the school was in such poor shape. asbestes, mold, cieling tiles falling down, door knobs falling off, lockers coming out of the wall, cracks everywhere you look, the place was, in a way, a complete mess. so, they took this one down, built a new one next to it. even though that school was so old, and looks like its been through heck, its apart of all of our histories.so many people are sad to see it gone. its just that so many memories were made there...

  • You Are Right

  • Can't really understand why it tugs at the heartstreings, but it truly does. Thanks for documenting this...

  • Beautiful tribute. I went to Ambridge High, lived in Baden. Graduated in l958. This year will be our 50th class reunion. Will be a bitter sweet time.Thank you so much for presenting this for all to see. I live in Latrobe, PA for past 25 yrs. What great memories I have of Ambridge High. Tearing it down is very hard to see. You did an excellent job of putting this vidio and music together.
