I like Poland also, people are very friendly there!!! Spanish culture is wonderful...mediterranean, moor, visigothic, roman, the result was a very interesting mix. Maybe the empire should last a little longer, but in a similar way to english and french colonial empires, the colonies would have to become autonomous sooner or later...

Spanish domain expanded very fast in all America and Oceania. Some islands (Marianas, Philippines) were actually, spanish colonies. I recently read, that the spanish had even a footstep at Vancouver, Canada around 1790. Actually, there was a race of several expeditions (russian, english-canadian, us american, spanish) to take possesion of Vancouver and the Nootka region. English managed to obtain control of Vancouver some years later.
