It's a shame you missed the island, but it certainly appears that you had a marvelous time regardless and saw some beautiful things. Thank you for the information about pouring tea - good to know!
Just letting you know that I love all of your videos and thanks for all your hard work uploading these entertaining yet educational vids for all of us to enjoy. I appreciate them very much.
I loved the forest and plantations, they looked magnificent. Are they in that much need of land that they have to dredge the sea? and how long is that sea wall? love the videos!
@miles2057 The Saemangeum Seawall is 33km in length. Korea has a population of almost 50 million, but just around 100sqkm of land. It's a tight fit. So this reclaimed land will be used for farming.
@qiranger Is the whole of South Korea 100 square kilometers? That IS tiny, especially with 50 milion ppl, is it verty crowded there? It's also funny that the Australian population is under 22 million considering the size of the country is almost the same size as America AND that's with the government bringing a hell of a lot of immigrants here too in the last few years otherwise we have a naturally aging country and we r running out of skilled workers,i guess that justifies the influx of ppl.
Great video! I love the way the red was picked up by your camera from the umbrella. And too bad you didn't get to make it to your destination, but looks like you had a ton of fun. Thanks for showing us around and the thing about the tea equally divided was interesting.
@TheFaustianMan Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, the camera really likes that red umbrella! The tea ceremony in full is quite interesting! I might have to figure out how to show that in a future video!
Hope that you get to go to Jeju Island soon, I'm sure that was disappointing. The green tea farms in Boseong looked so nice, I would have liked going there too. I've enjoyed all your recent trips :)
I never got to Jeju do. From all reports its great, but it's one of the few places I didn't get to in South Korea.
That green tea farm was interesting. Amazing to see all the products made from it. I once got invited to a students house and he served me green tea in the traditional style. He told me that particular green tea was $300 a bag. I told him I hoped it was a very big bag. :P
@VirtuallyAddicted Yeah, I was blown away at how expensive some of it was. I found most of the tea too sweet to drink though, but very interesting. I'd love to go back when it was dry!
Drat and bother, I tried to get to Jeju as well while I was living there, not just for the wonderful weather and tropical splendor, but the world's only sex-themed amusement park.
...
Look it up, it looks wonderful and any trip back to Korea will be highlighted by a long day spent there. Sorry neither of us could make it to Jeju, at least you're in position to try again in the near future.
I was drinking my morning green tea while watching this. Oh Steve, you keep reminding me that I have so much from China to upload. On another note, the same thing happened when Ling and I went to Hainan Island... Typhoon. It happened again to us on a trip to Zhuhai =PI have some great footage of the Zhuhai typhoon including Ling losing her favorite hat to the Pacific Ocean, it broke her heart.
Nice tour, obviously, in spite of nasty weather, and very well reported The information about pouring tea was quite interesting! Loved the video; a pleasure to watch, as always :-)!
Looks like y'all made the best out of a bad situation. I loved the green tea store and the tea lesson. Plus, learning about the land reclamation was interesting as well. Looked like that might be a lot of new land coming into being soon. Makes me wonder what might be hidden under that land, if it was uncovered by the sea before at any point in human history.
Ah... the Saemangeum land reclamation project, ask any dutch engineer and he will tell you how hard that project fails on the technical level.
Ah well, I hope the will learn from it for future projects.

@qiranger I heard that a lot of farmlands in southern parts of Korea are being abandoned. So I'm not quite sure why they'd reclaim land from the sea
